Munster SH Championship Semi Final
Our Senior Hurlers lost to Limerick in the Munster semi -final last Sun in Semple Stadium with the scoreline 2-18 to 2-16. This was Limericks first championship victory over Tipp in Thurles since 1973. Tipperary now head into the qualifiers with the first round games taking place on Sat June 28th or July 5th. All the Munster and Leinster quarter final and semi final runners up will go into the draw. At this stage the draw for the All Ireland Qualifiers looks as follows;
In the first bowl will be A: Tipperary, B: Cork v Waterford runner-up, C: Cork or Waterford v Clare runner-up, and D: Antrim or Laois
In the second bowl will be A: Offaly v Kilkenny runner-up, B: Offaly or Kilkenny v Galway runner-up, C: Dublin v Wexford runner-up, and D: Antrim or Laois.
In the 2nd round of the Qualifiers the four winners from the first round will go into the draw with no repeat pairings if possible. The two winners of round 2 will qualify for the all Ireland Quarter Finals.

Munster SF Quarter Final
Tipperary Senior Footballers put in a very impressive performance to overcome Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds with the score 2-14 to 1-1. This was Tipp’s first Munster championship victory since 2003 and this win has firmly places the Premier County as the main contender to challenge the big two, Cork and Kerry. Tipp will now face the Rebels in the Munster semi final on Sat June 21st in Pairc Uí Chaoimh at 7pm.

Munster Junior Football
Tipperary’s junior football squad lost to Limerick in the curtain raiser to the senior last Sat at the Gaelic Grounds. Fielding many young players who had Munster or All Ireland MF medals our young team never got to grips with a resilient Limerick side who never allowed Tipp gather any momentum and kept ahead right to the end. Final score Limerick 1-13 to Tipperary 1-10.
Thanks to Manager David Power, plus selectors Pat Moroney and Shane Gavin for all the work they put into preparing this team.

Munster Intermediate Hurling
Tipp Intermediate Hurlers advanced to the Munster Final with a sensational extra time victory over Limerick last Sunday in Semple Stadium and the growing crowd really got involved in the excitement during the closing stages of this curtain raiser. The sides were level at the end of normal time at 1-15 each and Limerick looked to have the upper hand in the first period of extra time as the led by two points. But two goals by Tony O Brien and Kevin Fox had the teams level again before Tommy Heffernan grabbed the winning point to take defending champions Tipp to their third Munster Final in a row. Final score Tipperary 3-16, Limerick 1-22 (AET). The Munster Final is fixed for Wed June 25th against the winners of Cork and Clare.

Apart from SH, SF and IH, our U21 hurlers are the only other team left in the championship and they face the winners of Limerick and Clare away on Wed July 16th. That Limerick Clare Munster Quarter Final takes place this Wed night June 4th in Pairc Na nGaeil. On Sunday next Tipp will play Galway in a challenge in Killea (see above).
