Tipperary have annexed 4 All-Ireland football titles in the last 10 years by winning the All-Ireland Senior B Football title in 1995, the All-Ireland Junior Football title in 1998, the 2005 Tommy Murphy Cup and the All-Ireland Minor Football title in 2011. In 2002, they drew with Cork in the Munster Senior Football Final before losing in the replay.

Tipperary’s best player in recent times was Declan Browne from Moyle Rovers. Declan became the first Tipperary player to receive a Football All-Star in 1998 and won his second award in 2003. Declan captained Tipperary to victory in the Tommy Murphy Cup final in 2005 before retiring from inter-county football in 2007.

Tipperary Football has seen a resurgence in recent years with the Senior team winning successive promotions in the National League in 2008 and 2009 followed by the Under 21s winning the Munster title for the first time in 2010. The achievement of Tipperary winning the 2011 All-Ireland Minor Football title against a fancied Dublin side underlined the good work being done at underage level in the County.
