Senior Hurling Draw

The draw for the 2nd Round of the Hibernian Inn Senior Hurling Championship was made in Dolla last Sunday evening after the Toomevara v Kildangan game. The North champions were placed against Templederry and Toomevara take on Portroe. Beaten North finalists, Silvermines have a game against Burgess.

Seven winners were placed in bowl 1 against seven losers in bowl 2. Borris-Ileigh and Roscrea were the first two teams drawn out. The draw is as follows:

Borris-Ileigh v Lorrha Dorrha
Nenagh Éire Óg v Roscrea
Portroe v Toomevara
Kilruane MacDonaghs v Borrisokane
Kildangan v Templederry Kenyons
Ballina v Moneygall
Burgess v Silvermines.

The 2nd Round will be played on W/e 8th June.

Totals
The seven games played over the last two weekends produced 21 goals and 208 points. That’s an average of 3-29.71 per game. In 2013 the totals were 12 goals and 184 points scored in the six first round games. An average of 2-30.6 per game

Junior A Hurling League
GROUP 1
Four teams remain in the race for two semi final spots as the final round of games will be played on Saturday 24th May. The ties will be played simultaneously providing financial help to mobile phone companies.
Nenagh Eire Og face Burgess. Victory is vital to either team. A win is also vital to Knockshegowna when they face Moneygall and the same can be said for Roscrea who take on Toomevara. The odds are on Knockshegowna and Roscrea to advance.

The league table after four rounds is as follows:
*Knockshegowna Played 4 = 6 pts +2
Burgess Played 4 = 6 pts + 8
*Roscrea Played 4 = 5 pts +14
Nenagh Eire Og Played 4= 5 pts + 22
Toomevara Played 4 = 2 pts -6
Moneygall Pl 4 = 0 pts – 40

*Knockshe take first place ahead of Burgess having won the head to head in round 4
*Roscrea are second ahead of Nenagh Eire Og as they defeated the blues in their recent meeting.

GROUP 2
Recent wins for Kildangan and Templederry proved vital as three teams remain in the contest. The final round set for this weekend includes Borris-Ileigh who travel to Templederry while Kildangan host Kilruane MacDonaghs. Victory is vital for a semi final position
The up to date league table is as follows:

Borris-Ileigh Played 3 = 5 pts + 9
Templederry Played 3 = 4 pts -2
Kilruane MacD Played 3 = 2 pts -4
Silvermines Played 4 = 0 pts -25

Junior B Hurling
GROUP 1
Kildangan have all their games played so they will have an anxious wait when the final round of games are played on Saturday 24th. Portroe are at home to Newport while Lorrha play host to Ballinahinch. Any of the top four are in line for a semi final position. The league table is as follows:
Kildangan Played 4=5 pts +10
Portroe Played 3=4pts + 4
Lorrha Played 3= 4 pts -1
Newport Played 3 =3 pts +7
Borrisokane Played 4 =0pt -20

GROUP 2
Ballina and Nenagh Eire Og made it to the semi finals after they claimed wins in the final round played last weekend. Nenagh Eire Og defeated Toomevara by
1-17 to 1-11 and Ballina accounted for Silvermines on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-11.
The league is complete and the final table reads as follows:
Ballina Played 4=7 pts +15
Nenagh E Og Played 4=6 pts + 16
Silvermines Played 4= 4pts -12
Toomevara Played 4 =2 pts -11
Borrisokane Played 4 =1pt -8.

Minor A Football
Newport Gaels are through to the final and Ballina will take on Inane Rovers in the semi final.

Minor B Football
Silvermines and Borrisokane will meet in this year’s Minor B final.

Exams
Best of luck to all players who face Junior and Leaving Cert exams next month.

Minor Hurling
The first round of the Ger Gavin North Tipperary Minor Hurling championship will be played in mid to late June. The draw for the opening round was made recently and should look like this.
