Peadar Cummins
Well done to the North Tipp U14 Hurlers who had an emphatic win in the Peadar Cummins last weekend where they beat Mid Tipp 3-10 to 0-8 in the semis and later recorded a 4-12 to 0-4 victory over South Tipp in the final. Well done to all the players and especially the management team of Liam Hogan, James McGrath, David Moran and Shane Hodgins.

U12 Hurling
This years championship is now up and running with U12C grade having played one round already. Rd 1 results were Moneygall 1-5 Templederry 3-4,Roscrea 2-1 Newport 4-8 and Shannon Rvrs 5-5 Ballinahinch 3-9. Next Friday in U12A we have Toomevara v Nenagh, Kildangan v Ballina and Roscrea v Kilruane. In U12B Portroe v Lorrha, Borrisokane v Burgess and Borrisileigh v Silvermines. In C Rd2 we haveTemplederry v Ballina 2, Ballinahinch v Moneygall and Newport v Shannon Rvrs whilst in U12D Roscrea £ v Kilruane 2, Newport 2 v Silvermines 2, Toomevara 2 v Nenagh 2.

Rules : At last weeks Nth CNG Bórd meeting it was agreed that at U12 level that the solo run will be curtailed to prevent a dominant player carrying the ball too far. This means that the ball cannot be solo’d on the hurley but can be bounced once eg when a player gains possession either by rising or catching, he can cary for 4 steps, bounce on hurley, cary another 4 steps and then must strike. It was also agreed that the pitches can be narrowed by 10m in from each sideline and that there will be no square ball. All this info was shared with the North Tipp referess so that there should be no confusion. It will be reviewed at Co Semi stage.

U14 Hurling
The A grade will begin on June 18th whilst this Weds the B Grade starts with Burgess v Kilruane, Newport Gaels v Ballina, Moneygall/Templederry v Borrisileigh, Lorrha v Borrisokane and Shannon Rvrs v Portroe. In this grade each club will have 9 pool games to play so we cannot allow any slippage in the fixtures. Consequently the 6 day rule will apply which means that should a club wish to change a fixture, they must play the match before the next arranged fixture. Please note that the Nth quarter finals are down for July 30th with the Nth semis one week later.
