Job Vacancy (Accounts Manager)

Tipperary County Board. Lár na Páirce. Slievenamon Road. Thurles

Full-time permanent position.

Salary €45,000 plus 6% Pension Contribution

Tipperary County Board are currently recruiting for the role of Accounts Manager in our Thurles office.

The Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association – Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae Thiobraid Árann) is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Tipperary and the Tipperary County teams.

The successful candidate must have previous experience in an accounts position, similar to the specification below and enjoy a varied role which will be focused on accounting data input on the Xero software system, management of the payables and receivables database, quarterly accounts preparation, end of year audit preparation and ongoing financial reporting. You will be working with the administration, fundraising, IT and management team in our Thurles office, and the overseeing Financial Advisory Committee.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and efficient administration of all financial accounting
  • Accounting of Income and Expenditure
  • Data entry for preparation of management accounts
  • Credit control
  • Liase with 3rd party payroll administration
  • Assistance in annual budgeting
  • Preparation of all payments on IBB
  • Participation in continuous improvement activities for the Finance Department
  • Analyses of all incoming invoicing to ensure they meet the financial controls procedures in place
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management, when required (Ticketing, Events preparation etc)
  • Ongoing reconciliations of all bank accounts

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A finance/accounting qualification will be an advantage, but longterm experience in a similar role will be taken into account
  • Proficiency with an account’s software package
  • A full understanding of accounting practices and procedures
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Excellent IT skills particularly Excel and MS Office Package
  • Excellent oral, verbal and written English communication skills
  • High level of numerical accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Understand priorities with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability in the role are essential
  • Ability to multi-task and to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Currently eligible to work in Ireland
