West Senior Hurling Championship:
Round 2 of the Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling Championship takes place on Wednesday September 7th at 6pm in Clonoulty as Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams take on reigning West champions Eire Og Annacarty Donohill.

It is a repeat of last year’s West final where Eire Og came out on top by a point. Indeed just a goal separated the sides in Eire Og’s favour when the sides met in round 1 last year. Eire Og have had the upper hand on their neighbours having won the last 10 games between the sides. Having defeated Clonoulty/Rossmore in their opening game a win or a draw for Kickhams will see them through to a second decider in a row. This will be Eire Og’s first game of the championship and a win will put them well in contention to qualify for this year’s final. A draw or a defeat will see everything come down to their last group game against Clonoulty/Rossmore this Sunday.

The final round of the Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling championship will take place this Sunday September 11th which sees Eire Og Annacarty Donohill take on Clonoulty/Rossmore in Dundrum at 3.30pm. Should Eire Og get something out of their game on Wednesday night then this will be a must win for Clonoulty/Rossmore. Should Kickhams win on Wednesday night then both teams will be fighting it out for the remaining spot in this year’s final.

It will be the thirteenth meeting of the sides since 2008. Eleven of the meetings have been in the West championship while one has been in the County championship (2014). Out of those twelve games Clonoulty/Rossmore have come out on top nine times while Eire Og have won on three occasions.

West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The remaining two quarter finals of this year’s Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship take place this Wednesday night. In Annacarty we have a repeat of this year’s Crosco Cup final as Cappawhite take on Golden/Kilfeacle. In the Crosco Cup final it was Cappawhite who came out on top. Cappawhite have qualified for knockout stages of the County championship having finished second in their group. Golden/Kilfeacle on the other hand finished bottom of their group and must win the West championship to get back into the County series and avoid relegation.

In Sean Treacy Park, last year’s finalists Galtee Rovers take on Lattin/Cullen Gaels. The sides met just a few weeks back in the group stages of the County championship where Lattin/Cullen Gaels had just a point to spare over their neighbours. Both sides are through to the knockout stages of the County championship but both will certainly want to advance in this year’s divisional championship.

Both games throw in at 6pm with the provision for extra-time should either game finish level.
The semi-finals of the competition will also take place this weekend. First up on Saturday Sean Treacys and Cashel King Cormacs meet in Sean Treacy Park at 6pm. Sean Treacys will be looking to reach their first final since 2013. Cashel King Cormacs will be looking to reach their second final in a row as defending champions. Cashel must win the West championship in order to avoid being involved in the relegation.

The following day at 1.45pm in Dundrum, Cappawhite or Golden/Kilfeacle will take on Galtee Rovers or Lattin/Cullen Gaels.
