West Senior Football Championship:
Aherlow Gaels and Galtee Rovers met in the 73rd Rea Clarke Hennessy West Senior Football final on Sunday last. It was the eighth final between the sides with Aherlow Gaels continuing their good run in the final against their neighbours making it a fifth final win on the trot. It was Aherlow Gaels first title since 2010 and their seventh title in the competition. Match Report and Photos

Aherlow Gaels will now play Drom/Inch in the this year’s preliminary quarter final. Should Cahir win the South championship this weekend they will meet Galtee Rovers in the preliminary quarter final. If Cahir are defeated Galtee Rovers will play Loughmore/Castleiney in the quarter finals.

Earlier in the week Aherlow Gaels qualified for the final defeating Eire Og Annacarty in the semi-final. Match Report

West Intermediate Football Championship:
As a curtain raiser to this year’s senior decider The Rea Clarke Hennessy West Intermediate Football final saw Golden/Kilfeacle and Rockwell Rovers go head to head. It would be a first final victory for Golden/Kilfeacle over their neighbour Rockwell Rovers. It was their third title in the grade and a first since 1982. Match Report and Photos

There is no rest for both teams as they return to action in the County quarter finals this Sunday. In Boherlahan, Rockwell Rovers will take on Mid champions Moyne/Templetuohy, while in New Inn Golden/Kilfeacle take on Mid finalists Moycarkey/ Borris. Both games throw in at 12 noon with the provision for extra-time.

West Minor A Hurling Championship:
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Donohill met in the 86th final of the Joe Hayes Cleanline sponsored West Minor A Hurling championship on Wednesday last in Golden when they got the better of three in a row seeking Clonoulty/Rossmore. Match Report and Photos

Kickhams have now won the title on eighteen (including 1941 “Invincibles” (Kickhams and Golden/K)) occasions. It was Kickhams first title since 2007 and their first final victory over Clonoulty/Rossmore since 1994.

West Junior B Football Championship:
On Tuesday night in New Inn last Arravale Rovers got the better of last year’s beaten finalists Cashel King Cormacs to book a place in this year’s decider. Match Report

The final of this year’s Rea Clarke Hennessy West Junior B football championship takes place this Friday night September 30th at 8.15pm in Cappawhite as Arravale Rovers go head to head. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw. The sides met in the group stages of the competition where Arravale Rovers enjoyed a comfortable victory.

Arravale Rovers will be playing in their fourth final in the grade and have won the title just once in 2008 defeating Sean Treacys in the final. Solohead are playing in just their second final having won their only other appearance in the final in 1996 when they defeated Galtee Rovers. Both sides have played Junior A football since their respective West titles but dropped back to Junior B for the 2016 campaign.

County Senior Hurling Championship:
West Champions Clonoulty/Rossmore will take on South champions Mullinahone this Sunday at 2pm in Semple Stadium Thurles in the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling championship quarter final. Best of luck.

County Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The draw for the preliminary quarter finals of this year’s Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling championship took place on Sunday last. All four West teams will be in action this Sunday.

At 12 noon in Cashel, Galtee Rovers take on last year’s County finalists and Mid Champions Thurles Sarsfields. In Templemore at noon Lattin/Cullen Gaels take on Shannon Rovers.

The tie of the round goes ahead at 3pm in Dundrum as West champions Sean Treacys go up against neighbours Cappawhite. There is a provision for extra-time in all games.

County Junior A Hurling Championship:
Best of luck to Clonoulty/Rossmore who take on Mid finalists Loughmore/Castleiney in the quarter final of the Tipperary Water County Junior A Hurling championship on Saturday in the Ragg at 3pm. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

County Senior Football Championship:
The draw for the knockout stages of this year’s Tipperary Water County Senior football championship took place on Sunday evening.

The county senior football quarter finals will take place on weekend of the 16th of October, semi-finals weekend 23rd and the final fixed for weekend 30th.

County Minor Football Championship:
Congratulations to Galtee/Golden who defeated JK Bracken Og in the semi-final of the Tipperary Water County Minor A Football championship on Saturday last in Drombane after extra-time. They will now play the winners of Clonmel Commercials and Clonakenny/Moneygall who meet this Wednesday night.

Congratulations to Cashel King Cormacs defeated Upperchurch/Drombane in the semi-final of the Tipperary Water West Minor B Football championship on Sunday last in Clonoulty. They will now play Kilsheelan/Kilcash in this year’s County final.

This year’s Minor football finals will take place on the weekend of October 9th.

County Minor Hurling Championship:
Best of luck to Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams who take on JK Brackens Og in the semi-final of the Tipperary Water West Minor A Hurling championship this Saturday at 2.30pm in Holycross. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

Best of luck to Cashel King Cormacs who take on Gortnahoe/Glengoole in the semi-final of the Tipperary Water West Minor B Hurling championship this Saturday at 2pm in Fethard. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

County Senior Hurling Relegation:
The first round of the County Senior Hurling relegation commenced last Sunday as Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams got the better of Moneygall in Templetuohy. Round 2 will take place on the weekend of the 9th October.

The competition will be run on a round robin basis with all four teams playing each other and the bottom two teams being relegated to Intermediate for 2017. The remaining teams are Moyne/Templetuohy and Silvermines.

County Intermediate Hurling Relegation:
The draw for the county intermediate hurling relegation is as follows:
Group 1 Rockwell Rovers v Golden Kilfeacle, Arravale Rovers bye in round 1. This group is played on a league system with the bottom team relegated to Junior for 2017.
Group 2 Moycarkey Borris v Cashel King Cormac’s. This group is a two team group with the loser relegated to Junior for 2017.

The first round of the intermediate hurling relegation will take place weekend 9th October.
