In Boherlahan, there was no such joy for Rockwell Rovers who were defeated by Mid Champions Moyne/Templetuohy after extra-time.

County Minor Football Championship:
Best of luck to Galtee/Golden who take on Clonmel Commercials in the final of the Tipperary Water County Minor A Football championship on Saturday in Cahir at 3.30pm. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

Galtee/Golden won their 5th West Minor A Football title earlier in the year when they defeated Arravale Rovers in the final. It was their second title in a row. They made it third time lucky when they defeated JK Brackens Og in the County semi-final having been beaten at the County semi-final stage in their previous three attempts in 1961, 1962 and 2015 (there was no County championship in 1952) to qualify for a very first final in the grade. It is a repeat of last year’s semi-final which saw Commercials advance. Commercials will be looking for a sixth title in seven years having won five in a row from 2010 to 2014.

Galtee/Golden will look to become the first team since Arravale Rovers (captained by Darren Lowry) in 2007 to bring the Barrett Cup back to the West. In fact Arravale are the only West team to win the County Minor A Football championship since the turn of the millennium having also won the competition in 2004.

The West has been home to the County champions on 19 previous occasions:
Arravale Rovers 1934, 39, 59, 66, 72, 80, 86, 88, 91, 97, 2004, 07
Emly/Lattin 1982,83
Galtee Rovers 1998
Cashel King Cormacs 1974
St. Patricks (Lattin/Solohead) 1963
West Selection 1933

Best of luck to Cashel King Cormacs who take on Kilsheelan/Kilcash in the Tipperary Water County Minor B Football final. This game precedes the A final and throws in at 1.45pm. Cashel King Cormacs won their second West Minor B football title in May and followed this up by defeating Upperchurch/Drombane in the County semi-final just over a week ago.

Cashel will be playing in their first County Minor B Football final and will be looking to keep the Hugh Kennedy Cup in the West after Clonoulty/Rossmore victory in last year’s decider brought the championship back to the West for the first time since 1998 when Eire Og Annacarty Donohill were County champions.

West teams have held the honour of County Minor B Football champions on six previous occasions: Clonoulty/Rossmore (2015), Eire Og Annacarty Donohill (1998), Kickhams (1992), Rosegreen (1991), Aherlow (1988, 89)
