The same feat was achieved in 1991 when Rosegreen captained by Tom Shelly won the B and Arravale Rovers captained by Tony O’Sullivan won the A. There will be two West teams involved in the quarter finals this Saturday. At 2.30pm in Cahir, Arravale Rovers go up against South and reigning County and Munster champions Clonmel Commercials. The sides last met at the quarter final stage in 2012 where Clonmel Commercials came out on top by 0-14 to 0-8 in Cahir. The last meeting of the sides in championship football was in 2014 when Arravale Rovers had a single point to spare in the opening game of the group stages in Cashel, 0-10 to 0-9. The sides met in the County Adult Football League final back in August in Cahir where Clonmel Commercials came out on top by two points, 0-11 to 0-9.

At 4pm in Cashel, West finalists Galtee Rovers take on Mid champions Loughmore/Castleiney. The sides met in the group stages of the competition back in April when Loughmore/C had a single point to spare over Galtee Rovers, 0-7 to 0-6. The sides also met in the group stages 12 months ago where Loughmore/c also came out on top 1-10 to 1-7.

Aherlow Gaels will play their County quarter final on Wednesday October 19th when they take on Moyle Rovers in New Inn at 8pm.

County Intermediate Football Championship:
Golden/Kilfeacle have been drawn against Fr Sheehys in the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Football championship semi-final. This game has been fixed for this Saturday October 15th at 2pm in Cashel. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw. Golden/Kilfeacle will be looking to make it to back to back County finals following last year’s County Junior A success.

County Senior Hurling Relegation:
The second round of the County Senior Hurling relegation took place on Sunday last. Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams and Moyne/Templetuohy finished all square in Holycross. In the other game Silvermines got the better of Moneygall.

The result means Silvermines are now safe from relegation while Moneygall are relegated. The final relegation spot will be decided by the final round of games. On Saturday Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams take on Silvermines in Templemore at 2.30pm. Silvermines top the group on 4 points with Kickhams second on 3 points. Moyne/Templetuohy are third on 1 point. A win or a draw for Kickhams will guarantee them Senior Hurling for 2017 while defeat will see them remain on three points and should Moyne/Templetuohy defeat Moneygall then both sides will be level on three points. Score difference will then be used to determine who is relegated. Kickhams currently have a +3, while Moyne/Templetuohy have a +1 score difference.

County Intermediate Hurling Relegation:
The County Intermediate hurling relegation commenced last Sunday.

In Group 1, Golden/Kilfeacle got the better of Rockwell Rovers when the sides met in Cashel. This group is played on a league system with the bottom team relegated to Junior for 2017. Arravale Rovers are the third team in the group.

In Group 2, Cashel King Cormac’s retained their Intermediate status for 2017 with victory over Moycarkey/Borris in Boherlahan. Moycarkey/Borris are now relegated to Junior A for 2017.

Referees:
Best of luck to Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams referees, Phil Ryan and John McCormack who will take charge of the County Minor A and Senior Hurling finals respectively in Semple Stadium Thurles this Sunday.
