All Ireland Junior B Hurling Semi Final:
Best of luck to Eire Og Annacarty Donohill who take on Leinster Champions Tynagh/Abbey Duniry from Galway in the All Ireland semi-final this Sunday February 28th at 3pm in Killeedy. Hopefully they can bounce back from a narrow defeat in the Munster Final to qualify for this years All Ireland Final.
Referees: Well done to Fergal Horgan who took charge of the Allianz Division 1A Hurling League game between Dublin and Galway on Saturday last. John O’Brien also took charge of an Allianz Hurling League game at the weekend when he took charge of London and Carlow in Division 2A.

Schools: Best of luck to the Abbey CBS who take on Mitchelstown CBS in the final of the Corn Thomáis Mhic Choilm (18.5 B Hurling) this Thursday February 25th at 2pm in Ballyagran, Co. Limerick.

Sympathies: Jimmy Hennessy RIP.
It is with regret that we learned last week of the death of Jimmy Hennessy (Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams), Life President of the West Board. Jimmy played senior hurling with Kickhams and was first introduced into the side in 1946. Three years later he was on the Kickhams team that reached the clubs first ever County Senior Hurling final against Borrisoleigh. He played corner forward that day but unfortunately it was not to be Kickhams day. Throughout the 1950’s he collected a further eight West Senior Hurling medals as Kickhams dominated the championship. After his hurling career was over Jimmy served as West Board Secretary for 11 years from 1960 to 1970 succeeding another Dundrum man Jerry O’Dwyer. During this time he also became a selector on the County Senior Hurling team a role he continued for many years. The highlight being the All Ireland title of 1971. At the West Board convention of 1971 he stepped aside as Secretary of the board but stayed on as Treasurer for a further three years from 1971 to 1973. He gave 14 years’ service in total to the top table of the West Board and for this contribution he was made an Honorary Life President of the Board at the West Board convention of 1987. The board would like to offer its sympathies to his family and relatives.
