West Tipperary GAA Scene – August 9th 2016

West Junior A Football Championship:
The semi-finals of this year’s AIB Tipperary West Junior A Football Championship take place this Saturday evening.

In Dundrum Cappawhite and Clonoulty/Rossmore go head to head. Cappawhite go into the game unbeaten following victories over Sean Treacys and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams. Clonoulty/Rossmore recovered from an opening round loss to Emly to defeat Rosegreen to qualify for the semi-finals.

Both sides exited the competition at this stage in 2015 so will be hoping to go one better.
Cappawhite will be looking to get to their first final since 2008 while Clonoulty/Rossmore last contested the decider in 2000.

In Sean Treacy Park Emly take on Sean Treacys. Emly are unbeaten following victories over Clonoulty/Rossmore and Rosegreen while Sean Treacys defeated Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams following and open round defeat to Cappawhite.

Emly were beaten West and County finalists in 2015 while Sean Treacys will be looking to make their second final in three years.

Both games throw in at 6.30pm.

West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The draw for the semi-finals of the Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship took place at the weekend. The semi-finals have been pencilled in for Saturday August 19th as a double header in Dundrum.

Semi-Final draw:
Cappawhite v Galtee Rovers (5pm)
Cashel King Cormacs v Sean Treacys (6.30pm)

O’Donoghue Cup:
The replay of this Michael Devlin Solicitors O’Donoghue Cup semi-final between Galtee Rovers and Rockwell Rovers goes ahead this Friday evening at 6.30pm in Bansha. Extra-time will be played if the teams are level after 60 minutes. Following a very entertaining drawn game we look forward to an equally good replay. Arravale Rovers await the winners in the final.

County Intermediate Hurling Championship:
In Group 2 Rockwell Rovers conceded to Cappawhite meaning Cappawhite take the second spot in the group and qualify for the knockout stages.

County Adult Football League:
Best of luck to Arravale Rovers who take on Clonmel Commercials in the final of the Premier Division of the County Adult Football League this Wednesday night August 10th. The game is fixed for Cahir with a 7.15pm throw in. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

Tipperary Senior and Minor Hurlers:
Best of luck to the Tipperary Senior and Minor Hurlers this Sunday August 14th in Croke Park in their respective All Ireland semi-finals v Galway. ¬
