Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football Notes – 14th July 2014

TIPPERARY MINOR TEAM
The All Ireland Minor Semi Final between Tipperary and Armagh will take place in St Peregrines, Dublin on Saturday July 19th at 4.00pm. Extra time will be played if necessary. Neither county are strangers to All Irelands with Tipperary competing in 2009 and winners in 2010 while Armagh were champions in 2011. This game promises a feast of ladies football.
On the other side Leitrim will take on Offaly earlier on the same day to decide who the other All Ireland competitors will be for the final which will be played on Saturday August 2nd. We wish the Tipperary team all the best on the day and all support is welcome.

TIPPERARY U16/MINOR TEAM
Tipperary’s U16 and Minor Team hosted a Table Quiz recently in the Halfway House, Rathronan, Clonmel. Thanks to all who sponsored the rounds of questions on the night and to Tony Phelan who provided the food. Well done to Pat Fahey, Quizmaster. The teams would also like to acknowledge all who supported the quiz.

TIPPERARY SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
On Tuesday last Tipperary Ladies Football Association launched their Horse & Jockey Senior Club Championship in the Horse & Jockey Hotel. All senior clubs were in attendance and a great night was had by all. It is hoped that this launch will further enhance the promotion of Ladies Football within County Tipperary.

GAELIC4MOTHERS & OTHERS
Congratulations to Ballingarry Gaelic4Mothers & Others on being selected to play at half time of the Munster Ladies Football Senior Final in Rathmore, Kerry on Saturday last.

MUNSTER LADIES FOOTBALL UNDER 12 BLITZ
Munster Ladies Football will host an Under 12 blitz in 3 separate venues on Saturday 19th July 2014 – Knocknagree, Co. Cork/ Mungret, Co. Limerick/ Moyle Rovers, Co. Tipperary. All Under 12 clubs are invited to compete in this blitz and -details on how to enter are available on www.tipperaryladiesfootball.ie Closing date for entries is Wednesday July 16th.

GARDA VETTING
The National Garda Vetting Unit have revised the Garda Vetting Form and made a number of changes which must be included on all forms in anticipation of the upcoming legislation on vetting.
The new vetting form is the only vetting form Ladies Gaelic Football Association will now accept. You can get the new vetting form can be downloaded from www.tipperaryladiesfootball.ie. Ladies Gaelic Football Clubs are signed up to the Code of Ethics and Good Practice Guidelines which requires all officers, mentors or volunteers involved with underage teams within your Club to be vetted.

TIPPERARY LADIES FOOTBALL GOLF CLASSIC
Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football recently launched their Johnny Murtagh sponsored Golf Classic in the Horse & Jockey Hotel. The Golf Classic will take place on this Thursday July 17th at Tipperary Town Golf Course. A team of four costs €200 (meal included) and to book your tee you can call Janet on 083 4199628. Every team member will also receive a voucher for the Lemongrass Restaurant which can be used in any of their restaurants in Clonmel, Kilkenny, Carlow or Liffey Valley.

Sponsorship of Tee boxes is also available by contacting any of the committee members – Tommie Campbell, Siobhan Condon, Biddy Ryan, Michelle Donnelly, Paddy McMeel, Tom Egan, John Leahy, Pat Morrissey, Janet Gleeson and Michael “Babs” Keating.

KILMURRY IBRICKANE ALL IRELAND UNDER 16 CLUB 7-A-SIDE COMPETITION
Kilmurry Ibrickane Ladies Football Club has the pleasure of inviting Tipperary Under 16 clubs to participate in the Kilmurry Ibrickane All Ireland Under 16 Club 7-a-side competition, which will be held on Saturday September 6th 2014. Full details and entry forms are available on www.tipperaryladiesfootball.ie. Closing date for entry is Monday July 21st.

GRAB YOUR WHISTLE COURSE
Tipperary Ladies Football will be holding a Grab Your Whistle Level 1 Referees Course over 3 days – Saturday 23rd August, Saturday 30th August and Saturday 6th September. Participants must have be born on or before August 1997 to participate in the course. The cost of the course is €15. For further details on the course check out www.tipperaryladiesfootball.ie
