Tipperary Minor Hurlers
Hard luck to the Tipperary Minor Hurlers following Saturday’s All Ireland Minor Hurling Final defeat to Limerick. While the result did not go Tipperary’s way, every member of the panel can be immensely proud of an outstanding season, highlighted by winning the Munster Minor Hurling Championship title.
A sincere thank you to manager James Woodlock and his management team for their dedication, commitment and leadership throughout the year. This talented group represented Tipperary with tremendous pride and provided supporters with many memorable moments along the way. They have also given us every reason to be optimistic about the future of Tipperary hurling.
Congratulations to Limerick on their All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship success and we wish them well in their celebrations.
A huge thank you to Val O’Gorman and all the team at Mr. Mister Menswear, Cahir for their generous sponsorship in kitting out the Tipperary Minor Hurlers for last weekend’s All Ireland Final. Your continued support of Tipperary GAA is greatly appreciated. Be sure to visit http://www.mrmister.ie to see their excellent range of menswear.

Thank you also to everyone at Galtee Rovers St Pecaun GAA Club for the wonderful welcome home they gave Tipperary captain Conor Collins and the county minor panel last Sunday evening. It was a fitting tribute to a fantastic group of young players and your support was greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

Congratulations to Kilruane MacDonaghs who were the lucky winners of the Tipperary GAA “Bring a Bus” competition for the All Ireland Final. A sincere thank you to Clover for generously sponsoring the initiative which encouraged clubs from across the county to travel in large numbers and get behind our Minor Hurlers on the biggest day of their season.

The last remaining final in the FBD Insurance County Leagues took place on Tuesday June 23rd in Holycross where Kilruane MacDonaghs claimed the Division 5 Hurling League title with a 1-26 to 1-18 extra time victory over Ballybacon Grange.
Kilruane were on top throughout much of the contest and led 0-11 to 0-6 at half time. They looked to have one hand on the title as they held a five-point advantage in the closing stages but Ballybacon Grange mounted a dramatic comeback. Shane Ryan’s goal was followed by injury time points from Paul Cummins and Jack O’Neill to level the game at 1-15 to 0-18 and force extra time.
Kilruane regained control in the additional period, leading 0-22 to 1-17 at the interval in extra time. A powerful second period capped by a goal from Conor Cleary sealed a deserved eight point victory for the North side.
