Senior Football

In Group 1, Clonmel Commercials continued their impressive start to the championship with a 12 point win over Ballina while Ardfinnan got the better of Aherlow by five points. In Group 2, Kilsheelan Kilcash also made it two wins from two with an impressive victory over Thurles Sarsfields. JK Brackens recorded their first win of the campaign defeating Ballyporeen by four points. In Group 3, Loughmore Castleiney returned to winning ways with a 13 point victory over Grangemockler Ballyneale while Moyle Rovers also made it two wins from two with an eight point victory over Upperchurch Drombane.

Intermediate Football

Rockwell Rovers defeated Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill while Fethard and Cahir played out a draw in Group 1. The refixed Group 1 Round 1 fixture between Fethard and Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill took place last Monday with Fethard winning on a 2-11 to 3-4 scoreline. In Group 2, Moyne Templetuohy produced a solid performance scoring four goals in their victory over Clonmel Óg while Killenaule impressed with a win over Clonmel Commercials. Round 3 will take place on the weekend of August 29th/30th with another crucial round of fixtures ahead as teams battle for places in the knockout stages. With points at a premium and relegation also a concern for some teams, there will be plenty at stake across all three grades.

2026 FBD Insurance County Hurling Championships

A big weekend lies ahead in the FBD Insurance County Hurling Championships with the final round of the group stages taking place and plenty still to be decided across all three grades

Senior

Group 1 sees Thurles Sarsfields face Kilruane MacDonaghs while Mid rivals Holycross Ballycahill take on Upperchurch Dromban with all four teams still in contention heading into the final round. Group 2 is another closely contested group with Moycarkey Borris facing Borris-Ileigh and Clonoulty Rossmore taking on Loughmore Castleiney with everything still to play for. Loughmore, Clonoulty and Borris-Ileigh are all divisional champions so have a Preliminary Quarter Final spot if they don’t finish in the top two.  In Group 3, Cashel King Cormacs have secured top spot and face Roscrea who are guaranteed to finish bottom of the group and enter the relegation Semi Final regardless of the Round 3 results. Kiladangan face Drom & Inch with Drom & Inch needing a win to progress while a win or draw will secure second place for Kiladangan. In Group 4, JK Brackens have already secured top spot and face CJ Kickhams Mullinahone while Nenagh Éire Óg take on North rivals Toomevara with the remaining positions still to be decided.

Premier Intermediate

Group 1 sees North champions Silvermines guaranteed to finish bottom of the group and face a place in the Relegation Semi Final. They face Moyne Templetuohy in Round 3 while Sean Treacys take on Gortnahoe Glengoole with the top two places still up for grabs. Group 2 sees Kilenaule guaranteed top spot while Carrick Swan are certain to finish bottom and face a relegation play off. The two South rivals meet in Round 3 while Thurles Sarsfields take on St Mary’s in the other game. A draw would see St Mary’s progress on score difference while the winner will advance to the knock out stage. St Mary’s also have a guaranteed knockout spot having won the South. Group 3 has Lorrha Dorrha guaranteed top spot and Templederry Kenyons certain to finish bottom with the two sides meeting in Round 3. The other game sees Burgess take on Moneygall in a winner takes all encounter, although a draw would also be enough for Burgess to progress due to their superior score difference. Group 4 is also finely poised with Golden Kilfeacle having secured top spot and facing West Champions Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill (who have at least a Preliminary Quarter Final spot) in Round 3. Ballina will take on Boherlahan Dualla in the other Round 3 fixture.

Intermediate

Group 1 is wide open with Kilsheelan Kilcash facing last year’s county finalists Knockavilla Kickhams in Round 3 while Portroe take on Clonoulty Rossmore with plenty still to play for at the top of the group. Group 2 sees Arravale Rovers guaranteed first place while Carrick Davins are certain to finish bottom and face a place in the Relegation Semi Final with the two sides meeting in Round 3. Shannon Rovers and Clonakenny will battle it out for second place with a draw enough for Shannon Rovers to secure the spot. Clonakenny also have a place in the Preliminary Quarter Final as a back up option if required, having won the Mid Championship. Group 3 is keenly contested with Ballingarry guaranteed to finish top and facing Holycross Ballycahill in Round 3 while Cappawhite take on Skeheenarinky. All three teams remain in contention for second place. Group 4 sees Borrisokane guaranteed top spot while Ballybacon Grange will finish bottom regardless of the Round 3 results. The winner of Moyle Rovers and Newport will finish second while a draw will be enough for Newport to claim the spot.

Supporters are reminded to check the Tipperary GAA website, app and social media channels for full fixture details. Supporters are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance through the Tipperary GAA website.
