Tipperary Senior Hurlers
The Senior Hurlers game scheduled for last Sunday against Waterford was postponed due to the untimely passing of Benny Kiely, father of Waterford hurler Michael Kiely (Abbeyside Ballinacourty). Tipperary GAA and the Tipperary Senior Hurlers extend their sincere sympathies to the Kiely family on Benny’s passing. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
The game will now take place this coming Sunday 15th March at 2.00 pm in Azzurri Walsh Park. The game will be streamed by TG4 on their App and Website and shown deferred in full on TV.
Tipperary Senior Footballers
The Senior Footballers’ next league outing takes place this Sunday 15th March at 2.00 pm when they travel to face Wicklow in Echelon Park. A win is essential to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Looking back at the last five league meetings between the sides, Wicklow hold the edge with three victories to Tipperary’s two. Wicklow were comfortable 0-21 to 0-12 winners when the teams met last year. The previous meeting before that came in 2021 when Tipperary won 2-12 to 1-12. Meetings between the sides have been relatively rare. Before 2021 the teams had not met since 2014, when Wicklow goals proved decisive in a 4-12 to 0-22 victory for the Garden County. Prior to that, Tipperary won by two points in 2008 while Wicklow claimed a two point win in 2007.
Tickets For Allianz League Games
Supporters are reminded that tickets for all Allianz League games must be purchased online or in selected Centra and SuperValu stores, as tickets will not be on sale at match venues. Please note that Tap & Go will not be in operation at any venue, and in line with GAA policy for all competitions, no cash will be accepted at the turnstiles.
Tipperary Under 20 Footballers
The Tipperary Under 20 footballers will commence their championship campaign this coming Saturday 14th March when they face Clare in Round 1 of Phase 1 of the Dalata Hotel Group Munster Under 20 Football Championship. The game takes place in Páirc Naomh Mhuire, Quilty (Kilmurry Ibrickane GAA grounds) with a 2.00pm throw in. Tickets are available from participating Centra and SuperValu outlets or online via munster.gaa.ie/fixtures/munster-gaa-tickets.
Best of luck to manager Paddy O’Gorman, his backroom team and the players as they begin their campaign. Congratulations to Liam Freaney of Kilsheelan Kilcash who has been named Under 20 football captain for 2026. He will be assisted by vice captains Emmet Bonner (Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s) and Jamie O’Keeffe (Clonmel Commercials). Well done to all three players on a magnificent honour.

County Leagues
The FBD Insurance County Football Leagues commenced last weekend. Please keep an eye on https://tipperary.gaa.ie/fixtures-results/ for the full list of up to date fixtures and results. In Division 1, Golden Kilfeacle had a two point victory over Cahir, Ardfinnan recorded an eleven point win over Arravale Rovers while rivals Clonmel Commercials and Moyle Rovers played out a draw. In Division 2 there were victories for Aherlow, Grangemockler Ballyneale and Moyne Templetuohy over Fethard, Kilsheelan Kilcash and Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s respectively. In Division 3, Father Sheehy’s defeated Clonmel Óg.In Division 4, Clerihan beat Rosegreen by four points while Cahir had a comfortable win over Ballyporeen.
The Hurling Leagues will commence this coming weekend.
Schools
Hard luck to Nenagh CBS who lost out to St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny in the Croke Cup ‘A’ Semi Final last Saturday in Rathdowney. It was a cruel finish to the year for the North Tipperary school, with St Kieran’s scoring 1-5 without reply late in the game to secure a 2-18 to 2-15 victory. Nenagh CBS can be proud of their achievements throughout the campaign, having claimed just the school’s second ever Harty Cup title.
On a positive note for Tipperary schools hurling, St Joseph’s Borrisoleigh have secured a place in the ‘C’ Under 19 Schools Hurling Final following a 2-18 to 2-13 victory over Clonfert College, Ballinasloe. The game took place last Saturday in Banagher. St Joseph’s will now face Coláiste Naomh Cormac in the Final which is likely to take place on Saturday 21st March.
Hard luck to Coláiste Éamann Rís, Callan who lost out to St Patrick’s, Maghera in the ‘B’ Semi Final. The Callan panel had a strong Tipperary representation with eight Mullinahone players included.
Tipperary Coaching & Games Development
Registration is open for the Tipperary GAA Easter Camps 2026. The camps will take place from 31st March to 2nd April or 7th to 9th April, running daily from 10am to 1pm at various venues across the county (see Tipperary GAA social media channels for the full list of venues and dates). The cost is €40 per child, with every participant receiving a free football and sliotar, and a €5 per child rebate going back to their club. Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship
Well done to Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams on their victory over An Rinn (Waterford) last Saturday in Newport in the Final of the Safety Direct Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship. Kickhams were victorious on a scoreline of 1–27 to 0–18. Well done also to Newport for hosting and running an excellent tournament.
Handball News
Tipperary Handball saw success recently at both the Munster Cumann na mBunscoil Finals and the Adult 40×20 All Ireland Semi Finals in Croke Park.
The Munster Cumann na mBunscoil Championships were hosted by Tipperary in Nenagh and Dolla. The girls’ competitions took place in Nenagh. In the Girls U11 Singles, Ali Williams (Ardcroney NS) was defeated in the Munster Semi Final by the eventual winner Ava Considine of Clarecastle. In the Girls U11 Doubles, Ava Malone and Kate O’Mahony from Newport recorded a good Semi Final win over Aoife Quinlivan and Áine Counihan from O’Callaghans Mills before going on to win the Munster Final against Caoimhe O’Riordan and Eilis Moynihan from Liscarroll.
In the Girls U13 Singles Semi Final, Ella Slattery (Ballina) was beaten by Mia Buckley from Ballydesmond. In the Girls U13 Doubles, Emily Monaghan and Lucia Neary were defeated in the Munster Final by Sophia Moroney and Ella Kirby from Clonmoney.
The boys’ games were held in Dolla. In the Boys U11 Singles, Cian Bartosik (Gaelscoil Chluain Meala) recorded a good Semi Final win over Ben O’Keeffe from Rathmore before defeating Conor Donovan from Kilkishen in the Final. In the Boys U11 Doubles, Daire Sherlock and Billy Quirke (Ballinaclough) beat Dylan O’Sullivan and Conor Herlihy from Kiskeam in the Semi Final and went on to defeat Sean Neville and Eanna Frost from Kilkishen in the Munster Final.
In the Boys U13 Singles Semi Final, Gearóid White (Ardcroney) was beaten by Callum Counihan from O’Callaghans Mills, who was later defeated in the Final by Cillian Healy of Cork. In the Boys U13 Doubles Semi Final, Conor Nolan and Alfie Finn (Gaelscoil Chluain Meala) defeated Kayden O’Keeffe and Adam Cremin from Rathmore before going on to beat Jack Kirby and Conal Early from Clonmoney in the Munster Final.
Well done to all the Tipperary players who reached five of the eight Munster Finals, winning four titles. Best of luck also to those heading to Cumann na mBunscoil Day in Croke Park.
In the Adult 40×20 All Ireland Semi Finals in Croke Park, Kevin Buckley (Cashel) recorded a good win over John Treanor from Monaghan, 21–17, 21–10. Billy Mullins (Clonmel) defeated Dominic Sheridan from Cavan in the Over 70 Singles, 21–8, 21–11. We wish both players the best of luck in their upcoming Finals. Karen Monaghan (Ballina) has also progressed to the All Ireland Over 35B Final.
In other Munster competitions, Karen Monaghan and Ann Marie Ryan will face Anne Marie Hegarty and Clare Kennedy of Clare in the Munster Over 35 Doubles in Tuamgraney. In the Ladies Junior B Singles, Sophie O’Meara is through to the Munster Semi Final. In Minor Doubles, Aiden Kyne and Shane Gleeson will meet Sean Considine and Eoin Shanahan from Clare in their Semi Final. In the Over 35 Doubles, Johnny Delaney and Dan Delaney will face Keith Heenan and John Keyes from Limerick. In the Intermediate Doubles Munster Final, Rory Grace and Jerome Cahill will take on Shane Hedigan and Gearóid Healy from Cork.
