Tipperary Football Board Notes – July 4th 2016

Commiserations to our Senior Footballers who failed in their bid to land the honours in last Sunday’s Munster Final in Killarney where Kerry emerged deserved ten points winners on a scoreline of, 3-17 to 2-10.

This was always going to be an almighty challenge and despite getting the ideal start with a Jimmy Feehan goal, we never reproduced the form we showed in seeing off Cork as Kerry quickly established a playing pattern and scoring rhythm which proved the difference.

As part of the learning curve of Tipp Football, when you play a Division 1 side and the second best team in the country, Tipp will now have a chance to regroup and come back refreshed and hopefully with a favourable crack at the qualifiers in the last twelve.

Again to remind all GAA clubs and golf enthusiasts of the Friends of Tipperary Football Golf Classic which takes place at Thurles Golf club on Friday August 5th and Saturday 6th with team entries at 120 euro and tee boxes at 50 euro. All enquiries to Martin O’Dwyer at 086 2549154.

Best of luck to Tipp’s Senior Hurlers who take on Waterford in the Munster Final this Sunday at the Gaelic Grounds Limerick along with our minor hurlers who clash with Limerick as part of a double header.
