SCÓR ALL-IRELAND FINALS

All roads lead to the Theatre Royal, Castlebar this Saturday April 13th, for Craobh Scór Sinsir na hÉireann. First to head into competition in the morning will be the Moyne-Templetuohy Tráth na gCeist team consisting of Jim O’Meara, Patrick Moran, Francis Cleere and Tom Collier.

The other main events will get underway at 3pm where Tipperary and Munster will then be represented in Rince Foirne by the Newcastle dancers. Newcastle is to the fore again when Treasa McGrath takes to the stage in the Aithriseoireacht category. And no doubt bringing much joy and laughter will be the Newport’s talented Leiriú Group who have entertained audiences at County and Munster finals already.

Best wishes to all in the four categories and hopefully you will have the blue and gold flag flying proudly at the end of the day.

TIPPERARY GAA CLUB DRAW

The 2019/20 and 2020/21 Tipperary GAA Clubs draw was launched at last week’s county board meeting.

In a break with tradition, it was decided to opt for a 2 year launch this time round, to ease workload on clubs next year. Other than that the draw remains the same with fantastic prizes on offer each year.

For anyone new wishing to join please contact your local club or the Lar na Páirce office 0504 22702 for more details.

GROUNDS PERSON EDUCATIONAL DAY

To register for the course please contact Kieran McGann by email to: ktmcoare@gmail.com or for any queries contact Kieran on 086 773100 before Thursday, April 26th.

POST PRIMARY

Congratulations to Cashel Community School who won the Lidl All-Ireland PPS Junior C final last Saturday, defeating FCJ Bunclody 3-8 to 3-6.

Commiserations to Presentation Ballingarry who were defeated 3-10 to 3-4 by Scoil Mhuire Newcastlewest in the Munster U15D Football Final last week.

Best wishes to Colaiste Mhuire Durlas in the Munster U15 E Hurling Final where they will play St. Patricks Comprehensive School Shannon in Rhebogue this Friday, April 12th at 12:30pm.

HEALTH & WELLBEING

This is a final appeal for clubs to please send a delegate to Healthy Club Officer Training this Thursday April 11th commencing at 7.30 in Lar na Páirce. So far 18 clubs have signed up to this initiative which is really only quarter of the clubs in Tipperary despite every club in the county being involved in promoting Health & Wellbeing without realising it.

Any policy a club has adopted is part of the Healthy Club Project as it makes your club a safer place for members to enjoy.  Many clubs in the county are actively involved in fund raising in their local community for deserving causes; these events come under the initiative as they show your club is involved in helping the wider community.  Also, we are aware clubs in the county are organising events such as groups out walking, track attack, men on the move and many more events encouraging people to become more active.  These all are part of the wellbeing of your club.  Any social event run or any talk such as Gambling / Alcohol / Drug Awareness all come under the Healthy Club Initiative.

So please clubs get someone to attend next Thursday and start appreciating the great work you are doing unknown to yourselves.

To confirm your delegate please email chair.hwc.tipperary@gaa.ie
