Junior

Junior A Hurling League
The opening games of the North Junior A Hurling league will start this weekend.

GROUP 1
The Burgess game against Roscrea was postponed as five of the Roscrea players were playing with Scoil Phobal Ros Cre in the All-Ireland B Colleges semi final against Saint Mary’s College, Galway.

Knockshegowna defeated Toomevara by 1-15 to 2-11 and join Nenagh Eire Og as first round winner. The Burgess v Roscrea game will go ahead after next Saturday’s All-Ireland Colleges B Hurling Final which involves Scoil Phobail Ros Cre. Some of the College players are involved with Roscrea Junior team.

The second round will see the two first round winners in opposition when Nenagh Eire Og host Knockshegowna on Saturday 5th April. Toomevara are at home to Burgess on the same day. Both teams are looking for a first win and the same can be said about Roscrea and Moneygall who clash in Roscrea on Sunday 6th.

GROUP 2
The second round will consist of Silvermines v first round winners, Kildangan, on Saturday 5th April. Mines are looking for their first win. Templederry take on Kilruane MacDonaghs on Saturday also. Clubs are asked check their club for any possible changes in time or date.

Junior B Hurling
GROUP 1
The opening round of the Junior B hurling league saw Portroe defeat Ballinahinch by six points. Borris-Ileigh gave Lorrha a walk over and Newport drew with Kildangan.
The second round is planned for the 13th of April. Here, Lorrha host Newport and Kildangan will welcome the visit of Portroe. Ballinahinch have a bye.

GROUP 2
In round 1, Ballina drew with Borrisokane. Nenagh Eire Og defeated Silvermines by four points. There are two games down for this week with Borrisokane to take on Nenagh Eire Og and Silvermines to face Toomevara. Ballina have a bye.

North Board Divisional Review Reminder
Clubs are requested to provide some feedback to our Board Secretary, Eugene Ryan within the next two weeks. There will be a full discussion at the next North Board meeting.

Minor A Football
The opening game in the North Minor A Football championship should commence on the 7th of April when Ballina will face Inane Rovers. Newport Gaels have a bye as Nenagh Eire Og has withdrawn.

Minor B Football
Four games are planned for the 2nd or 3rd of April
Group 1
Lorrha v Borrisokane on Wednesday the 2nd of April while Silvermines v Portroe is on for the 3rd of April.
Group 2
Burgess have a bye as Shannon Rovers Gaels has withdrawn leaving
Kilruane MacDonaghs v Kildangan on the 2nd of April.

Don’t forget
The Munster Under-21 Football final Tipperary v Cork in Pairc Ui Rinn April 9
Munster Minor Hurling quarter final Tipperary v Limerick in Limerick April 10
County Intermediate Hurling Championship on weekend April 6th or April 13th.
County Senior Hurling Championship on weekend April 12/13th.
