Junior A League Final
Congrats to Kildangan who won their first North Junior A Hurling title when defeating Knockshegowna in the decider at Borrisokane last Saturday evening. The full time scoreline read Kildangan 1-14 Knockshegowna 0-11. Kildangan become the tenth team to win the title the first since Ballinahinch achieved their only crown in the grade in 2002. It was third time lucky for Kildangan having previously reached the final in 2007 (Roscrea) and 2011 (Nenagh). Knockshegowna’s defeat on Saturday was their second attempt having lost to Toomevara in 1988.

Hibernian-Inn North Tipperary senior hurling championship Quarter final 2014

Nenagh Eire Og v Kildangan at Dolla
Nenagh Eire and Kildangan will play the first of the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary senior hurling championship at Dolla next Sunday evening at 7pm. Nenagh arrived at this stage following their two wins over Templederry and Roscrea. Meanwhile Kildangan overcame Toomevara and Templederry. The meeting is the first encounter since the replay of the county senior hurling semi-final last October which Nenagh won.

Previous Meetings 2005-2012
Since Kildangan’s promotion to senior grade in 2005 the teams have met seven times, four in the north championship and three in the county. Nenagh lead four wins to one with the two remaining games ending in a draw.

Watch Centre North Tipp Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship Round 1 GROUP 1
Holders Knockshegowna will take on Templederry in the opening round of the Watch Centre North Tipp Junior ‘A’ Hurling championship at Ballingarry next Saturday.
Last year’s runners up Toomevara will travel to Borrisoleigh for their opening game. It’s a repeat of last year’s semi final meeting when Toomevara won by 1-21 to 1-11.
Beaten quarter finalists, Kilruane MacDonaghs take on Moneygall.

Watch Centre North Tipp Junior ‘A’ hurling Championship GROUP 2
With Nenagh Eire Og receiving a bye, Roscrea take on Kildangan in the first round at Roscrea. Kildangan reached last year’s quarter final when losing to Toomevara.
The second game in the group involves a local derby between Burgess and Silvermines in Kilcolman.

Ger Gavin North Tipp Minor A Hurling Round 1
Nenagh Eire Og will bid for their eight Ger Gavin North Tipp championship as the championship commences this week. Their opening game will be against Toomevara in Toomevara next Tuesday evening, a repeat of last year’s thrilling North final when Nenagh won following extra time on a scoreline of Nenagh Eire Og 4-22 Toomevara 3-20

Seven teams stand in Nenagh’s way and two other games will be held on Thursday evening when Ballina (North Under 16 B winners in 2012) play Newport Gaels and Borris-Ileigh face Kilruane MacDonaghs

Ger Gavin North Tipp Minor B Hurling Round 1
Eight teams will bid for the Ger Gavin North Tipp Minor B Hurling championship. Ballina are the holders but they take part in Minor A this year which leaves last year’s runners up Burgess in the chase for honours. Two years ago, Burgess were defeated by Ballina in the North under 16 B hurling final.

The four games will be played over two evenings the first of which is held on Tuesday 4th when Portroe take on Lorrha-Dorrha. On Thursday 26th, Silvermines face Burgess, Templederry Kenyons take on Shannon Rovers Gaels and Kildangan play host to Borrisokane.

Best of luck to Tipperary senior footballers who take on Cork in the Munster senior football semi final at Pairc Ui Caoimh, throw in 7.00pm
