Feile Hurling
Kilcolman was buzzing with excitement on Monday last when the North Feile hurling competition came to a climax. First up, in the B final, Borrisoleigh and Shannon Rovers thrilled the large attendance with an exciting open game of hurling with Borrisileigh just doing enough to win out on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-5. Borrisileigh will now go on to the County semis on Sat May 3rd. In the A final, Silvermines and Toomevara also created a stir as they traded scores to finish level in normal time 1-6 to 0-9. Toomevara came out stronger in extra time scoring 5 points to Silvermines single point. Toomevara will now also progress to the County semi and will also participate in a Munster blitz day in June. Meanwhile the feile skills competition also took place under the guidance of Niall McGrath with Fiachra Starr of Eire Óg winning the U14 skills competition. Evan Murphy, also of Eire Óg won the U14 long puck whilst the U16 long puck will take place next week. All these winners will participate in the county final competitions on May 3rd.
