Mid Tipperary GAA Scene – May 30th 2016

Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling Championship
Last weekend seen the commencement of the Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling championship with Moycarkey Borris having a comprehensive victory over JK Brackens by a score of 4-20 to 0-16. The game was evenly balanced at half time with Moycarkey Borris leading 1-14 to 0-12 but goals in the second half by Pat Ralph, Conor Hayes and Kieran Morris ensured that Moycarkey Borris would march on to the semi finals thus ending JK Brackens’ championship year. Next weekend sees the preliminary round game between Drom-Inch and Moyne Templetuohy take place in Templemore on Sunday while on Saturday Loughmore Castleiney face Upperchurch Drombane in another quarter final in The Ragg at 7pm.

Inter county Action:
Well done to the Tipperary Senior and Junior footballers who both recorded wins over Waterford in Fraher Field Dungarvan on Sunday last. The Juniors needed extra time to defeat their Deise counterparts by a single point while in the Senior game it was much more comprehensive as they recorded an 8 point victory to set up a semi final meeting against Cork in Semple Stadium on the weekend of June 11th / 12th.

Mid Junior Hurling Leagues:
In Division 1, Loughmore Castleiney defeated Moyne Templetuohy which puts them into the final against Holycross Ballycahill. In Division 2, Upperchurch Drombane face Gortnahoe Glengoole in the final while in Division 3,Thurles Gaels defeated Clonakenny in the final on Friday evening to clinch the title by a score of 0-11 to 3-9.

Drom Inch GAA Golf Classic: Drom Inch GAA club are holding their golf classic in Rathdowney Golf Club on this Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th of June.There are still a limited number of tee times on the timesheet which can be booked by contacting Ambrose Purcell on 085 1743477 or Mary Hayes on 086 2726731. If you are interested in entering or sponsoring a team the cost is 120 euro while the cost of sponsoring a tee box is 50 euro.
