County Coiste na nÓg Notes – February 5th 2017

As mentioned last week we have the grading for the u12 Football competitions for 2017. We also have dates for the upcoming Interdivisional tournaments and Feile & Peil County Final dates.

Interdivisonal Hurling Competitions
While some might think this a quieter time of year, that’s certainly not the case for many young hurlers of 13, 14 or 15 years of age. School hurling, clubs starting back and preparations for their Interdivisional Development tournaments time is at a premium. Dates have been finalised with the format moving from a one day blitz to a two day tournament.

Peadar Cummins for 2003 hurlers will play rounds 1 & 2 on March 18th a week prior to round 3 & the finals on March 25th. The finals will be hosted as always by Borrisoleigh GAA, Peadar Cummins home club.
Roger Ryan for 2002 hurlers play rounds 1 & 2 on the 25th with the finals & round 3 on April 1st being held in Toomevara, home to the Roger Ryan tournament.

Garda Cup for 2001 hurlers will follow the same dates and procedure as the Roger Ryan. Two rounds on 25th before round 3 & finals on April 1st, venue to be confirmed.

Feile na nGael 2017
First up as all clubs will know is the Feile Peil, the County Final is set for April 22nd. The semi-final date has yet to be decided. We have ‘A’ & ‘B’ competitions again this year. Winning teams will head to Cavan, Down & Monaghan as they joint host this year’s event.

Our hurlers won’t have as far to travel this year with Carlow, Kilkenny & Wexford joint hosting the Feile this year. The County Feile Final is set for April 29th again the semi-final has yet to be decided.
