Thurles Credit Union Mid Minor Hurling Finals:
Well done to Gortnahoe Glengoole and JK Brackens Og who were crowned Thurles Credit Union Mid Minor hurling champions on Saturday in Drombane. Gortnahoe Glengoole defeated Drom Inch in the B final by 0-19 to 0-12. Gortnahoe Glengoole centre forward David Butler was the receipient of the man of the match award. The board would like to thank the McLoughney family of Clonakenny who sponsored the cup for the Minor B Hurling final in memory of John and we would like to thank William who was on hand to present the cup to the victorious Gortnahoe Glengoole captain. That game was followed by a thrilling encounter in the A final between JK Brackens Og and Holycross Ballycahill. A game which had some fantastic performances and a very high skill level was played in a very sporting manner with scores aplenty, at full time neither team could be separated so extra time followed and in the end the men from Templemore emerged as victors by 0-30 to 2-21. Joint captains Tom Murphy and Neil Quinlan accepted the cup on behalf of the team while Eanna McBride was the winner of the Man of the Match award.
