Irish Daily Star Camogie League Division 1 Semi-Final
Tipperary 0-15 Kilkenny 2-13

It was heart break for our senior girls last Sunday when it took extra time to decide a winner in the division one semi-final. It was a tough physical game with scores hard to come by and going into the break Tipp had a one point lead with the score board reading Tipp 0-06 Kilkenny 0-05

The second half was as tough and intense as the first and leading into the dying minutes Kilkenny had a one point lead then up stepped the ever reliable Jenny Grace and pointed a 45 to draw the game and it finished at the end of normal time 0-09 each.

Kilkenny got two goals in extra time which gave them the win but Tipp can be proud of their efforts and can use this experience to build for the championship, with leaders like Jenny Grace who finished with a personal tally of eleven points and sisters Ereena and Sarah Fryday there is no shortage of talented players in this unit, hard luck on the day girls it was a brave effort.

All Ireland Minor A Championship Semi-Final

Tipperary 4-16 Cork 0-07

Our Tipperary minors booked their place in the All Ireland minor A final in spectacular fashion last Saturday in W.I.T when they demolished Cork by twenty one points.

For the first ten minutes it was all Cork launching attack after attack forcing the Tipp defence to concede a number of frees and they went two points up but then Tipp settled and started to take over and scored 2-04 without reply with full forward Sinead Meagher in fine form getting both goals and finishing with a personal tally of 3-02.

The game was twenty four minutes in before Cork got their 3rd point of the day but Tipp’s response was instant scoring another four point’s before the break leaving the half time score – Tipperary 2-08 Cork 0-03.

Cork got the first score of the second half and both sides traded point’s before Sinead Meagher got her 3rd goal of the day and the game was well and truly over and Tipp management emptied the bench and finished the strongest with substitute Caoimhe Perdue getting the fourth goal with a great strike.

This was a fantastic team performance by Tipp, Caoimhe Bourke was solid in goals our defence gave the Cork attack nothing, midfield was dominant with Ciardha Maher having a good game and our forwards were magnificent and the work rate of Jean Kelly was inspiring.

Congratulations girls on a fantastic win and best wishes for the All Ireland final next weekend against Galway and we hope to see a big support there to shout on the girls and hopefully see them be crowned All Ireland champions, time and venue to be confirmed.

Scores for Tipp; Sinead Meagher 3-02 ,Kealy Linehan 0-03, Eibhlis Mc’Donald 0-03, Grace O’Brien 0-03, Orla O’Dwyer 0-04, Jean Kelly 0-01 and Caoimhe Perdue 1-00.
