West Senior Football Championship:
Arravale Rovers are West Senior Football champions for the 12th time and the third time in five seasons following their three point victory over Eire Og Annacarty Donohill in the final on Saturday last in Dundrum. Link to match report

West Intermediate Football Championship:
The final of the Rea Clarke Hennessy West Intermediate Football Championship took place on Friday night last in Clonoulty and saw Rockwell Rovers lift the trophy for the 12th time in the clubs history and for the third year in a row. Link to match report

West Minor Hurling Championship:
The final of the Bewley’s West Minor B Hurling Championship has been fixed for Sunday September 13th at 6pm in Annacarty. Extra time will be played in the event of a draw. Cappawhite Gaels will take on Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams.

Cappawhite Gaels finished top in the group phase of the competition and qualified directly for the final. Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams finished 2nd in the group qualifying for the semi-final where they defeated Lattin/Cullen Gaels. Cappawhite last won the Minor B Championship in 2008, completing a double have also won the previous year’s competition. They will be looking for title number three in the grade. Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams will be looking for their first title in the grade.

The semi-finals of the Dundrum House West Minor A Hurling Championship take place this Thursday night. Both games are fixed a 6pm start with extra-time to be played in the event of a draw.

Clonoulty/Rossmore will take on Arravale/Eire Og in Cashel. Clonoulty/R finished top of the group on 8pts. Arravale Rovers finished fourth in the group on 2pts. When the sides met in the group phase of the competition Clonoulty/R had a comprehensive victory over Thursday’s semi-final opponents.

In the other semi-final Galtee/Golden take on Emly/Treacys in Cappawhite. Both sides finished on 4pts in the group. They did not meet in the group phase as it was already determined they would meet in the semi-final.

West Junior B Hurling Final:
Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Sean Treacys meet in the final of the Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship on Saturday September 12th at 4.30pm in Cappawhite. Eire Og last won the competition in 2005 defeating Sean Treacys in the final. Eire Og will be looking for their third title in the grade while Sean Treacys will be looking for a first. Both sides finished second in their respective groups losing just one match each to their respective eventual group winners. Eire Og accounted for Solohead in their semi-final while Sean Treacys had a narrow victory over Cashel King Cormacs in their semi-final.

West Junior A Football Championship:
The second semi-final between Clonoulty/R and Golden/K will take place this Tuesday September 8th in Cappawhite with an 8pm throw in. Both sides go into the semi-final unbeaten. Clonoulty/Rossmore finished top of group 1 on eight points while Golden/Kilfeacle finished joint top of group 2 on seven points.

The winners will play Emly in the final which has been fixed for Sean Treacy Park this Sunday September 13th with a 6pm throw in. Emly last won the West Junior A title in 2001 and will be looking for title number ten in the grade.
Clonoulty/R last won the competition in 2000 and will be looking for title number seven in the grade.
Golden/Kilfeacle will be looking for title number six in the grade having last won the competition in 1979.

County Senior Football Championship:
The final game in Group 3 of the County Senior Football Championship between Galtee Rovers and Moycarkey/Borris took place on Wednesday last with Galtee Rovers emerging victorious. The result means Galtee Rovers finish third in Group 3 and will take the place of West champions Arravale Rovers in the County Preliminary quarter finals, as Arravale Rovers had already qualified as group winners.

County Senior Hurling Championship:
Eire Og Annacarty Donohill’s County Preliminary quarter final against Lorrha/Dorrha has been fixed for Sunday September 13th at 3:30pm in the Ragg. Extra-time will be played in the event of draw after sixty minutes.
Eire Og defeated Lorrha/Dorrha in the group stages of the competition back in May and will be hoping for the same again.

County Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The second of the playoff games in Group 2 of the County Intermediate Hurling Championship takes place this Wednesday night Sept 9th at 7.15pm in Dr Morris Park between St. Marys and Gortnahoe/Glengoole Lattin/Cullen will play the winners of this game.

1) Lattin/Cullen Gaels 0-19 1-14 Gortnahoe Glengoole
2) St Marys v Gortnahoe/G on 9th September in Dr Morris Park at 7.15pm
3) Lattin/Cullen Gaels v Winner (2) with the winner topping the table and progressing to the Quarter finals and the loser playing in the Preliminary Quarter Finals

In Group 3 there is also a three way playoff to see who will finish bottom of the group. The first game will see Moyle Rovers take on Shannon Rovers on this Wednesday night September 9th at 7.45pm in Dr Morris Park. Cashel King Cormacs will then take on the losers of this game with a date, time and venue to be confirmed.

All Ireland Sevens:
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams took part in the Kilmacud Crokes All Ireland Senior sevens on Saturday last the eve of the All Ireland final. They played three group matches, narrowly losing to Whitegate(Clare) in the first, defeating Moycullen (Galway) in the second and going down to Beagh (Galway) in the third.

Congratulations to Sean Treacys who won the St. Jude 7’s All Ireland sevens shield title on Saturday defeating John Mitchells in the final.

Tipperary Minor Hurling Team:
Commiserations to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Minor hurling team and management who were defeated by Galway in the All Ireland Minor Hurling Final in Croke Park on Sunday last.
