Clonoulty/Rossmore are Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling champions for the 17th time following victory over Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in the 87th running of the final played in Leahy Park Cashel on Sunday last. Match Report and Photos
Clonoulty/Rossmore had already qualified for the County quarter finals where they will meet one of the winners of Kilruane McDonaghs v Carrick Swans, Mullinahone v Ballina, Borrisoleigh v Burgess or Drom/Inch v Loughmore/Castleiney
West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
Sean Treacys are the Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling champions for 2016 following victory over Golden/Kilfeacle in Cashel on Sunday. Sean Treacys were appearing in their 7th final while Golden/Kilfeacle were playing in their 12th final and looking for title number five in the grade having last won the competition in 1995 when they defeated Lattin/Cullen in the final. In what was a repeat of the 2003 decider it was Sean Treacys who took their second title in the grade after a gap of 13 years.

West Senior Football Championship:
The first of this year’s Rea Clarke Hennessy West Senior Football championship semi-finals took place on Saturday evening last in Lattin where defending champions Arravale Rovers put their title on the line against Galtee Rovers. It took extra time to settle this games after the teams could not be separated after 60 minutes. Galtee Rovers just shading the game by the minimum in the end. It was the second time in three years that Arravale Rovers relinquished their crown at the semi-final stage to Galtee Rovers. Match Report
The second of this year’s semi-finals takes place in Cappawhite this Wednesday night at 8pm as Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Aherlow Gaels go head to head. Having failed to qualify from their group in the County stages both teams must win the division to order to re-enter the race for the County championship. It is a repeat of the 2014 semi-final which saw Eire Og come out on top on a score-line of 2-7 to 0-8.
Eire Og will be looking to make it to their sixth final in five years while Aherlow Gaels will be looking for a first final appearance since 2010 when they last won the competition. It will be the fifth meeting of the sides since 2010 with both teams having two victories each. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.

The final of this year’s Rea Clarke Hennessy West Senior Football championship takes place this Sunday at 3pm in Dundrum. It will be the 73rd running of the final. Galtee Rovers will play the winners of Wednesday night’s semi-final between Aherlow Gaels and Eire Og Annacarty Donohill. Galtee Rovers will be looking for title number twenty six in the grade having last won the competition in 2014 when they bridged a six year gap in doing so. They currently top the roll of honour on 25 titles, 13 ahead of Arravale Rovers in second. They will be playing in their 29th final and their third in four years.
West Intermediate Football Championship:
As a curtain raiser to this year’s senior decider The Rea Clarke Hennessy West Intermediate Football final goes ahead in Dundrum at 1.30pm. Rockwell Rovers and Golden/Kilfeacle go head to head in the 42nd running of the final. Rockwell Rovers will be playing in their 18th final having won thirteen and lost four. Golden/Kilfeacle will be playing in their seventh final, having previously won the competition on two occasions in 1977 and 1982. It will be the third time the sides have met in the final with Rockwell Rovers having won the three previous meetings.
Since coming up from Junior in 2005 Rockwell Rovers have contested nine out of the ten previous finals winning eight. Golden/Kilfeacle were West and County Junior A Football champions in 2015 and returned to the Intermediate ranks for the 2016 campaign.
Both sides defeated Cashel King Cormacs in the group stages of the competition to qualify for this year’s final.

West Minor A Hurling Championship:
Clonoulty/Rossmore and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Donohill meet in the 86th final of the Joe Hayes Cleanline sponsored West Minor A Hurling championship this Wednesday evening at 5pm in Golden. Clonoulty/Rossmore will be going for their 3rd title in a row. The sides last met in the final in 2008 when Clonoulty/Rossmore came out on top. This was also Kickhams last appearance in the final.
Clonoulty/Rossmore will be playing in their 29th final have won the title on fifteen previous occasions. Kickhams will be playing their 28th final and have won the title on seventeen (including 1941 “Invincibles” (Kickhams and Golden/K)) previous occasions. It will be a seventh final meeting between the sides. It currently stand three all. Clonoulty/Rossmore have won the last three final meetings between the sides both 2004 and 2005 after a replay. Kickhams last defeated Clonoulty/Rossmore in the final in 1994.
Both sides finished second in their respective groups in this year’s championship. Clonoulty/Rossmore defeated Group 1 winners Emly/Treacys in their semi-final while Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams defeated Cappawhite Gaels in the other semi-final.

Two years ago at U16A, the sides met at the semi-final stage of the competition where Clonoulty/Rossmore came out on top by four points. Clonoulty/Rossmore went on to defeat Cappawhite Gaels in the final after a replay.
West Junior B Football Championship:
The first of this year’s Rea Clarke Hennessy West Junior B football championship semi-finals took place last Friday night as Solohead defeated 2015 Galtee Rovers to reach this year’s final.

On Tuesday night in New Inn last year’s beaten finalists Cashel King Cormacs take on Arravale Rovers at 7.45pm and there is a provision for extra-time.
West U21A Hurling Championship:
The O’Dwyer Steel West U21A Hurling championship continues on Saturday as 2015 champions Cappawhite/Treacys take on Arravale Rovers in Annacarty at 5pm. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw. Arravale Rovers were defeated by Golden/Kilfeacle in the preliminary round. Golden/Kilfeacle are through to the semi-finals and will be joined by the winners of Saturday’s game and the remaining round 1 game between Galtee Rovers/Emly and Clonoulty/Rossmore. The two first round losers will meet each other for the remaining semi-final spot.
County Senior Football Championship:
The final game in the group stages of this year’s County championship took place last Wednesday evening in New Inn with Loughmore/Castleiney coming out on top against Eire Og Annacarty Donohill. The result now means Eire Og must win the West championship to re-enter the County championship. Match Report
County Minor Football Championship:
Best of luck to Galtee/Golden who take on JK Bracken Og in the semi-final of the Tipperary Water County Minor A Football championship this Saturday at 4.15pm in Drombane. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.
Best of luck to Cashel King Cormacs who take on Upperchurch/Drombane in the semi-final of the Tipperary water West Minor B Football championship this Sunday at 12 noon in Clonoulty. Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw.
County Senior Hurling Relegation:
The first round of the County Senior Hurling relegation commences this Sunday as Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams travel to Templetuohy to take on Moneygall at 1.30pm. The competition will be run on a round robin basis with all four teams playing each other and the bottom two teams being relegated to Intermediate for 2017. The remaining teams are Moyne/Templetuohy and Silvermines.
