Tipperary Co-Op West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship:
There was one Tipperary Co-Op Senior Hurling game last weekend with Clonoulty/R easily accounting for Cappawhite in Dundrum.
Cappawhite will now play Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams this Saturday night May 30th at 7.30pm in Clonoulty for a place in the semifinal. If Cappawhite win they will face Eire Og Annacarty Donohill in the semi final and Clonoulty/R will be through to the final. Should Kickhams advance to the semifinal they will play Clonoulty/R and Eire Og Annacarty Donohill would qualify for the final.
West Minor Football:
Arravale/Eire Og have qualified for the Tipperary Print & Design West Minor A Football Final after defeating Rockwell/R in the semi-final on Wednesday night last in Dundrum. Arravale/Eire Og now play Galtee/Golden in the final, with a date, time and venue tbc.
In the Pa Sheehy Butchers West Minor B Football Championship the semi-final between Cappawhite Gaels and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams has been re-scheduled for Wednesday night next May 27th at 7.30pm in Annacarty. Extra time will be played in the event of a draw. When the semi-finalists met just a few weeks ago a late Ger Browne goal for Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams saw the game finish level.
West Junior B Hurling League:
There was one game in Group 1 of the West Junior B Hurling League last Tuesday when Clonoulty/R and Rosegreen finished all square. The result sees Rosegreen through to the final where they will meet Emly this Tuesday night May 26th at 7.30pm in Golden.
West Junior B Hurling Championship:
There was one game in Group 1 of the Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship last Saturday when Eire Og Annacarty Donohill defeated Clonoulty/R, while in Group 2 Solohead had a two point victory over Sean Treacys.
There are two games this Sunday in Group 1 at 12 noon in New Inn, Cashel KC and Galtee/Rovers meet while later that night in Group 2 in Annacarty, Golden/K and Cappawhite meet with a 7.30pm throw in.
West Junior A Football Championship:
The AIB Tipperary West Junior A Football Championship will kick off this Sunday with three games down for decision. In Group 1 Lattin/Cullen will take on the 2014 West champions Rosegreen in Golden. Lattin/Cullen won the group encounter in 2014 but it was Rosegreen who advanced in the competition they defeated Lattin/Cullen in a playoff.
Also in Group 1 in Dundrum, Solohead and Clonoulty/R clash.
In Group 2 Arravale Rovers will take on last years beaten County finalists Sean Treacys in Cappawhite. When the sides met last year it was Sean Treacys who took the two points on offer.
All 3 games throw in at 12 noon.
West Junior A Hurling Championship:
The Gleeson Concrete West Junior A Hurling Championship will commence this Sunday at 7.30pm in Sean Treacy Park when Emly and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams meet. The sides met twice in last year’s championship with Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams winning on both occasions. There are three teams in this year’s competition, Clonoulty/R are the 3rd. All teams will play each other twice with the top 2 teams in the group meeting in the final.
West Junior B Football Championship.
There is one game in the Rea Clarke Hennessy West Junior B Football Championship this Sunday when Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Rockwell Rovers get the competition up and running in Cashel with a 12 noon throw in.
County Intermediate Hurling Championship:
Round 4 of the County Intermediate Hurling Championship took place last weekend May 23rd/24th.
In Group 2 in Golden, Lattin/Cullen Gaels defeated Gortnahoe/Glengoole to go level on points with St Marys and Gortnahoe/Glengoole at the top of the table with one round of games to play in the group.
Also in Group 2 on Saturday last Arravale Rovers went down to their 2nd defeat in the group when they were defeated by St.Marys.
The Group 3 game between Galtee Rovers and Shannon Rovers did not take place.
On Sunday in the same group Cashel KC suffered their 4th defeat of the group stages when they were defeated by Clonakenny.
Both West sides were successful on Sunday last, in Group 1 Rockwell Rovers got their 1st victory of this year’s group stages when they defeated Carrick Davins while in Group 4 Golden/K put themselves in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition with a good victory over Ballybacon/Grange.
County Senior Football Championship:
In Group 1 of the County Senior Football Championship Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Kilsheelan/K shared the points on offer in Cashel on Wednesday last. The result leaves both sides level on points at the top of the group.
In Group 2 Aherlow Gaels got their first victory of the group stages when they defeated Ardfinnan in New Inn.
County Senior Hurling Championship:
There was one game in the Clean Ireland County Senior Hurling Championship in Group 2 of Roinn 1 where Killenaule defeated Lorrha/Dorrha. The result means Eire Og Annacarty Donohill finish 2nd in the group meaning they will now play one of the Divisional winners in the last 16.
Munster Senior Football Championship:
Best of luck to our west representatives and to the Tipperary Senior and Junior Football teams who take on Waterford in the Munster quarter final in Semple Stadium on Sunday next.
