Tipperary Co-Op West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship:
The Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling Championship started this weekend when Eire Og Annacarty Donohill took on Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Cashel. A Dinny Crosse goal midway through the 1st half proved to be the difference as Eire Og Annacarty Donohill defeated Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams by 3 points.
The other first round between Clonoulty/R and Cappawhite will now take place on Sunday next May 24th at 7.30pm in Dundrum.
The losers of this game will play Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams for a place in the semi-final. There will be no repeat 1st round pairings in the semi-final for example, should Kickhams advance to the semi-final they must play the winners of Clonoulty/R and Cappawhite, while Eire Og Annacarty Donohill would qualify for the final.

West Minor Football:
The first semi-final of the Tipperary Print & Design West Minor A Football Championship took place last Thursday night as Galtee/Golden kept their unbeaten run intact defeating Emly/Treacys to qualify for the final. They will play the winners of the second semi final between Arravale/Eire Og and Rockwell/Rosegreen. This game will now take place on Wednesday night next May 20th with a 7.15pm throw in. Extra time will be played in the event of a draw. When the sides met earlier in the year it was Arravale/Eire Og who had a convincing victory.

In the Pa Sheehy Butchers West Minor B Football Championship the semi-final between Cappawhite Gaels and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams has been re-scheduled for Wednesday night next at 7.30pm in Annacarty. Extra time will be played in the event of a draw. When the semi-finalists met just a few weeks ago a late Ger Browne goal for Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams saw the game finish level.

West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The three 1st round games in the Tipperary Credit West Intermediate Hurling Championship took place last weekend.
On Saturday night in Dundrum there was a double header. The first game saw Cashel KC get their first championship win of the season when they defeated Lattin/Cullen Gaels by three points. Following that game, Galtee Rovers and Rockwell Rovers needed extra time to separate them after Alan Moloney goaled from a free in ordinary time to level the game for Rockwell Rovers. A late Tony O’Brien point in extra time saw Galtee Rovers prevail by the minimum.

Golden/K had a comfortable victory over Arravale Rovers in Cashel on Sunday in the last of the first round games.

The draw in full is:
Preliminary: Rockwell Rovers 0-17 0-15 Sean Treacys

Cashel KC, Galtee Rovers and Golden/K now advance to the semi-finals while the remaining 4 teams (Sean Treacys, Lattin/Cullen Gaels, Rockwell Rovers and Arravale Rovers) will battle it out for the last remaining semi-final spot.

The remaining fixture in Group 1 has been rescheduled for Tuesday night May 19th when Clonoulty/R take on Rosegreen in Clonoulty at 7.30pm. A win or a draw for Rosegreen will see them through to the final from Group 1. Should Clonoulty/R win they will finish level on points with Rosegreen but top the group, based on the head to head between the two sides.

On Tuesday last in Group 2, Eire Og got their first victory in the competition when they defeated Cashel KC in Annacarty. On Saturday last Emly qualified for the final when they defeated Sean Treacys in Emly.

The sides drew in the group stages of last year’s competition and ended up meeting in a playoff which took extra time to separate them. Clonoulty/R advanced to the semis by the bare minimum.
While in Group 2 also at 7.15pm there is a repeat of last year’s semi-final when Solohead and Sean Treacys clash in Bansha. When the sides met last year it was Solohead who advanced to the final.

Round 4 of the County Intermediate Hurling Championship will take place next weekend May 23rd/24th.
On Saturday night in Group 2 in Golden, Lattin/Cullen Gaels will take on Gortnahoe/Glengoole at 7.30pm. Lattin/Cullen have recovered from an opening round loss to win their last 2 games while Gortnahoe Glengoole are unbeaten in the group stages so far. When the sides met in the group stages last year it was Gortnahoe/G who took the two points on offer.
Also on Saturday night Arravale Rovers and St. Marys meet in Cahir with a 7.30pm throw in. Both sides are level on four points each so a win will be massive for both sides.

In Borrisoleigh on Saturday night, Galtee Rovers will take on Shannon Rovers at 7.30pm. A win will put Galtee Rovers in a very strong position to qualify from their group. On Sunday in the same group Cashel KC and Clonakenny meet in Holycross at 12 noon. Cashel will be looking for their first victory in this year’s group stages.

On Sunday there is a double header in Clonmel starting at 12 noon in Group 1 Rockwell Rovers take on Carrick Davins.
