West Tipperary GAA Scene – March 8th 2016
West U21 Football Championships:
The pairings for the McGrath Oil West U21B Football championship semi-finals should be known after this weekend’s matches. Golden/Kilfeacle are already through as Group 2 winners and will play the second team from Group 1 in the semi-finals. This will be determined by the result of the game between Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Cappawhite/Sean Treacys which takes place this Sunday March 13th at 12 noon in Sean Treacy Park.
A win or a draw will see Eire Og qualify for the semi-finals. A draw or victory of less than 4 points will see them play Golden/Kilfeacle in the semi-final. A victory of more than 4 points will see Eire Og top the group and Golden/Kilfeacle will play Cashel King Cormacs in the semi-final. Cappawhite/Sean Treacys must defeat Eire Og to advance in the competition. A win will set up a semi-final against Golden/Kilfeacle.
The remaining game in Group 2 sees Clonoulty/Rossmore take on Aherlow Gaels this Sunday March 13th in Lisvernane at 12 noon. The winner will advance to the semi-finals where they will play the Group 1 winners either Cashel King Cormacs or Eire Og Annacarty Donohill. A draw would be enough for Aherlow Gaels which would see them level on points with Clonoulty/Rossmore but would advance on score difference. Clonoulty/Rossmore must win to advance to the semi-finals.
