West U21 Football Championships:
The McGrath Oil West U21B Football championship continued last weekend. In Group 1 Cashel King Cormacs have qualified for this year’s semi-finals after victory over Cappawhite/Treacys in S T Park on Saturday. Match Report
The second semi-final spot from the group will be decided by the last group game between Eire Og and Cappawhite/Treacys. This has been fixed for Saturday March 12th at 2pm in Sean Treacy Park.
While in Group 2 Golden/Kilfeacle had a comfortable victory over Aherlow Gaels in Golden.

The win sees Golden/Kilfeacle through to this year’s semi-finals while the remaining game is a winner takes all encounter between Clonoulty/Rossmore and Aherlow Gaels for the remaining semi-final spot. This game has been fixed for Golden on Saturday March 12th with a 2pm throw in.
In the McGrath Oil West U21A Football championship defending champions Galtee/Emly had a comfortable victory over Arravale Rovers on Saturday last in Bansha. Match Report
A win or a draw for Galtee/Emly in their remaining group game against Rockwell/Rosegreen will ensure them a place in this year’s final. This game will go ahead on Saturday March 12th at 2pm in New Inn
All Ireland Junior B Hurling Semi Final:
Commiserations to Eire Og Annacarty Donohill who were defeated by Leinster Champions Tynagh/Abbey Duniry from Galway in the All Ireland semi-final on Sunday last in Killeedy.
Schools:
Congratulations to the Abbey CBS who defeated Mitchelstown CBS in the final of the Corn Thomáis Mhic Choilm (18.5 B Hurling) on Thursday last February 25th in Ballyagran. This was the third time the Abbey CBS have been victorious in the competition having also won the competition in 1992 and 2002. Tommy Lowry lifted the trophy on behalf of the Abbey team following on from Brian Lacey (‘92) and Andrew Morrissey (‘02). On both previous occasions that the Abbey have been Munster champions they have gone on to claim All Ireland honours. They now play the Leinster champions in the All Ireland semi-final on Saturday March 12th. Match Report / Photos
