West Senior Hurling Championship:
The Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling Championship will resume on Sunday June 28th as old foes Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams and Clonoulty/Rossmore meet in the semi-final of the competition in Annacarty. The throw in time is to be decided.
West Junior B Hurling Championship:
There were more games in the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu West Junior B Championship last weekend.
In Group 1 Cashel/K got off to a winning start when they narrowly Galtee/Rovers in Golden on Saturday night last. Link to Match Report.
The Group 2 game between Arravale Rovers and Cappawhite was postponed due to a bereavement in Cappawhite. Also in Group 2 Solohead had a comfortable victory over Lattin/Cullen in Bansha.
There is a full round of games in the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu Junior B Hurling Championship this weekend.
In Group 1 on Friday night Eire Og Annacarty Donohill will take on Cashel King Cormacs in Golden. Both sides will be putting their 100% records in this year’s competition on the line when they meet. A win for Cashel KC will see them go level on points with Eire Og while a win for Eire Og will see them just needing a point from their last game to guarantee top spot in the group.
Also in Group 1 on Saturday night Rosegreen continue the defence of their West title when they take on Galtee Rovers in Golden. Rosegreen took the points when the sides met in the group stages last year.
In Group 2 in Clonoulty on Friday night Golden/K will be looking to make it two wins from two when they take on Lattin/Cullen.
There are two games in Group 2 on Saturday night. In Cappawhite, Sean Treacys and Arravale Rovers meet. When the sides met last year Sean Treacys took the two points on offer. Arravale Rovers won their opening game while Sean Treacys recovered from an opening round defeat to win their game against Cappawhite the last day out. While in Annacarty, Solohead who are unbeaten so far and Cappawhite who have one win from two games go head to head.
All games have a 7.30pm throw in.
West Junior A Football Championship:
The AIB Tipperary West Junior A Football Championship resumed last weekend with three games down for decision.
In Group 2 on Friday night Emly got the better of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams when they met in Solohead. Link to Match Report.
In the same group Golden/K also got off to a winning start when they defeated Sean Treacys. Link to Match Report.
In Group 1 on Sunday reigning champions Rosegreen and Clonoulty/R shared the points in Cashel with an entertaining draw. Link to Match Report.
West Junior A Hurling Championship:
The Gleeson Concrete West Junior A Hurling Championship resumes this Saturday as Emly and Clonoulty/R meet in Sean Treacy Park with a 7.30pm throw in. Clonoulty/R were victorious in Round 1 while Emly were defeated by Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams. A win for Emly will see all three teams’ level on two points with two rounds left while a win for Clonoulty/R will see them need just one point from their remaining two games to guarantee a place in the West Final.
Clonoulty/R currently top the table with two points from one game, Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams are second with two points from two games while Emly are third yet to register a point having lost their first game.
County U21 Football Championship:
The semi-finals of the County U21A Football Championship have now been fixed for Wednesday June 17th. In the A semi-final Galtee/Emly will take on reigning County champions Clonmel Commercials in Cashel with a 7.30pm throw in.
The B semi-final sees Rockwell/Rosegreen take on Ardfinnan in Cahir on Saturday night with a 6.30pm throw in.
Extra time will be played in both games in the event of a draw.
County Senior Hurling Relegation
The draw for the County Senior Hurling relegation has been made. Cappawhite will play Holycross/B while Moyne/T will play Boherlahan.
Cappawhite’s game with Holycross/B will take place on Saturday June 27th in Dundrum with a 7.30pm throw in. The losers of both games will be relegated to Intermediate for 2016.
County Senior Football Championship:
There will be two West teams in action next weekend in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Football Championship. On Friday night June 26th at 7.30pm in New Inn Arravale Rovers will meet Loughmore/C. While the following night Aherlow Gaels will take on Drom-Inch in Cashel at 7.30pm.
Munster Senior Hurling Championship:
Best of luck to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Senior and Intermediate Hurling teams who take on Limerick in the Munster Senior and Intermediate semi-finals in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick on Sunday next June 21st.
Munster Senior Football Championship:
Commiserations to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Senior and Junior Football teams who were defeated Kerry in the Munster Senior and Junior semi-finals in Semple Stadium on Sunday last.
Referees:
Best of luck to Fergal Horgan who takes charge of the Munster U21 Hurling ¼ final this Wednesday night in Pairc Ui Rinn when Cork take on Waterford. Fergal has also been selected as the man in the middle for the Leinster Senior Hurling semi-final this Saturday June 20th between Laois and Galway in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.
