West Senior Hurling Championship:
The Tipperary Co-Op West Senior Hurling Championship Final between Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams and Eire Og Annacarty Donohill will take place the weekend of August 23rd.

West Senior Football Championship:
The Semi-finals of the Rea Clarke Hennessy West Senior Football Championship will take place this Tuesday August 4th. Reigning West champions Galtee Rovers will put their West title on the line when they take on Eire Og Annacarty Donohill in what is a repeat of last year’s West Final. The sides also met in the Group stages of the 2013 championship with Galtee Roves coming out on top. Eire Og Annacarty go into the game unbeaten in the County Championship, two wins against Thomas McDonaghs and Killenaule and a draw with Kilsheelan/K while Galtee Rovers were defeated in their two County Championship group games to date against Arravale Rovers and Loughmore/C.

In the other semi-final Arravale Rovers will take on Aherlow Gaels. It will be the first meeting of the sides in the West Championship since 2011.The most recent meeting of the sides was in the Group stages of the 2013 County Championship, where Aherlow Gaels came out victorious. Arravale Rovers go into the game unbeaten having defeated Galtee Rovers, Moycarkey/B and reigning County Champions Loughmore/C in the Group stages of the County Championship. Aherlow Gaels recovered from an opening round loss to win their last three games in a row in the County Championship against Ardfinnan, Ballyporeen and Drom/Inch.

Since the new format was introduced in 2013, it is the third year in a row the previous year’s West finalists have met at the semi-final stage. Arravale Rovers defeated Eire Og in 2013 while Galtee Rovers defeated Arravale Rovers in 2014. The last five West Senior Football titles have been shared between the four teams, with Aherlow Gaels the longest without the trophy.

West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The first of this year’s Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship semi-finals takes place this Saturday in Golden when reigning champions Lattin/Cullen Gaels put their title on the line against Cashel KC. The game throws in at 6.30pm and extra time will be played in the event of a draw. It will be the second meeting of the sides in the competition with Cashel victorious the last day out. Lattin/Cullen Gaels have recovered from that loss to defeat Arravale Rovers and Sean Treacys to advance to this year’s semi-final.

West Junior A Hurling Championship:
The game between Emly and Clonoulty/R has been re-fixed for this Saturday August 8th in Solohead with a 7.30pm throw in. This is a must win game for Emly to have any chance of making the final. When the sides met in round 1 Clonoulty/R just shaded it by two points.

West Minor Hurling Championship:
The Dundrum House Hotel West Minor A Hurling Championship resumes this Wednesday August 5th. Emly/Treacys and Galtee/Golden meet in Emly while Arravale/Eire Og and Clonoulty/R meet in Clonoulty. Both games throw in at 7pm. Galtee/Golden and Clonoulty/R go into their respective games unbeaten and are joint top of the group on four points after two games. Emly/Treacys were defeated in their opening group game while Arravale/Eire Og picked up their first win of the group at the second attempt the last day out.

In the Bewley’s West Minor B Hurling Championship Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams made it two wins from two when they defeated Cashel KC in Cashel. Link to match report goo.gl/WOmyWU .Cappawhite also made it two wins from two when they defeated Lattin/Cullen Gaels in Cappawhite. Link to match report. The results mean Cashel KC cannot qualify for the knockout stages. There is one more group game left. On Wednesday night next August 5th Cappawhite Gaels meet Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Cappawhite at 7pm. The winner of this game will qualify for the final while the loser will play Lattin/Cullen Gaels in the semi-final. A draw will see Cappawhite Gaels through to the final on score-difference and Kickhams into the semi-final.

West Junior B Hurling Championship:
In Group 2 of the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu West Junior B Hurling Championship Sean Treacys defeated Golden/K in Clonoulty on Thursday last. Sean Treacys finish the group on eight points from five games and are in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition. The defeat means Golden/K can no longer qualify for the knockout stages of the competition. Link to match report.

On Sunday last August 2nd Golden/K conceded to Solohead. Solohead move on to eight points from four games level on points with Sean Treacys who have a game more played. On Friday night at 7pm in Cappawhite Solohead take on Arravale Rovers. A win or a draw for Solohead will see them top the group while for Arravale Rovers it is a must win game. Arravale Rovers must win their last two group games to go level on points with the group leaders.

In Group 1 on Saturday night in Bansha, Eire Og Annacarty Donohill take on reigning West champions Rosegreen in the final game of the group. Throw in is 7pm. The winner will qualify for the semi-finals. A draw will see Rosegreen qualify on score-difference.

West Minor B Football Final:
In the Pa Sheehy Butchers West Minor B Football Final, Clonoulty/R had a comfortable victory over Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams on Monday in Cashel. Clonoulty/R have now won the title for the third time adding to their titles in 2011 and 2012. They will now play Ardfinnan in the County semi-final.

West Junior A Football Championship:
The AIB Tipperary West Junior A Football Championship continued on Tuesday last with two games in Group 2. Arravale Rovers got their second win in three games when they defeated Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams by two points. Link to match report.

The result means Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams cannot qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the Arravale Rovers and Golden/K game, which is fixed for Tuesday August 11th in Bansha at 7pm, will join Emly in the semi-finals. Should this game finish level, then Golden/K will progress.

On Tuesday night Aug 4th in Group 1, Cappawhite meet Rosegreen in Bansha with a 7.30pm throw in. The winners of this game will qualify for the semi-finals along with Clonoulty/R.

County Senior Football Championship:
On Wednesday night in Group 1 Killenaule defeated Kilsheelan/Kilcash meaning Eire Og Annacarty Donohill topped the group and are into the last eight of the County Senior Football Championship.

Tipperary Minor Football Team:
Congratulations to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Minor football team and management on their victory over Galway in the All Ireland Minor Football quarter final.

Referees:
Well done to Fergal Horgan and his team of officials who took charge of the Munster U21 Hurling Final between Limerick and Clare in Ennis on Thursday last. John O’Brien will take charge of the All Ireland Minor Hurling semi-final between Kilkenny and Galway on August 9th in Croke Park.
