Minor Football Championship:
The West Minor A and B Football Championships continued last Wednesday and Thursday.
In the Tipperary Print & Design West Minor A Football Championship Galtee/Golden are through to this year’s final following victory over Clonoulty/Rossmore in Clonoulty on Thursday night last. Match Report

The action continues this Thursday night April 21st in Emly when Emly/Treacys take on Arravale Rovers in their re-arranged fixture. This game throws in at 7pm. The semi-final of the competition is fixed for Thursday April 28th. A win or a draw for Arravale Rovers will see them advance to a semi-final against Clonoulty/Rossmore.

Emly/Treacys must win to advance to the semi-final. Should they win their semi-final their opponents will be either Arravale Rovers or Clonoulty/Rossmore. This will be decided on score difference. Currently Arravale Rovers have a -8 while Clonoulty have a -19 score difference.

In the Bridge House Golden West Minor B Football championship the semi-final pairing are now known following last week’s final round of group games. In Group 1 Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams got the better of Aherlow Gaels. Match Report

While in Group 2 Cashel King Cormacs had a comfortable victory over Rockwell/Rosegreen to finish top of Group 2. Match Report

Semi-Finals
Cashel King Cormacs v Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams on Wednesday April 27th at 7.15pm in Clonoulty. Cappawhite Gaels v Rockwell/Rosegreen on Thursday April 28th at 7.15pm in Dundrum. Extra time to be played in both games if level after 60 minutes.

West Minor Hurling Championship:
The West Minor A & B hurling championships will commence on May 4th/5th with Round 2 on May 11th/12th & Round 3 on May 18th.

West Junior B Hurling League:
The Maria Marron Palmers Hill stud West Junior B Hurling league commenced last week. In Group 1 Cappawhite defeated Clonoulty/Rossmore in Cappawhite. Match Report

While Solohead defeated Sean Treacys in Solohead by three points on Friday night. This Tuesday night April 19th Sean Treacys are host to Rosegreen while on Friday night April 22nd Clonoulty/Rossmore are at home to Solohead. Group 2 commences this Tuesday night. Cashel King Cormacs will host Arravale Rovers while last year’s champions Emly have home advantage against Golden/Kilfeacle. All games throw in at 7.15pm

County Senior Hurling Championship:
The group stage of the County Senior Hurling Championship continues this weekend with all three West teams in action. On Sunday April 24th in Group 2 of Roinn I, Eire Og Annacarty Donohill will be looking to make it two wins from two when they take on Borrisleigh in Boherlahan with a 2pm throw in. A win for Eire Og will put them in a strong position of qualifying for the knockout stages.

The same day in Group 4 of Roinn I, Clonoulty/Rossmore will also be looking to make it two wins from two when they take on Lorrha/Dorrha in Dolla with a 3.30pm throw in.

In Group 3 of Roinn 2 this Sunday April 24th Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams take on Borrisokane in Newport with a 2.30pm throw in. This is a group of three with Borrisokane having already been defeated in round 1 by Loughmore/C, a win for Kickhams will guarantee them Senior Hurling in 2017 and also a winner takes all game against Loughmore/C in the final round of games with the winner playing in Roinn 1 for 2017.

County Senior Football Championship:
The County Senior Football championship commenced last weekend with three West teams in action.

Eire Og Annacarty Donohill’s Group 3 game against Thomas MacDonaghs was called off. On Saturday evening in Group 1, 2015 West champions Arravale Rovers and 2015 South champions Kilsheelan/Kilcash shared the spoils in Cahir. Also on Saturday evening in Group 4 Aherlow Gaels defeated Moyle Rovers by the minimum in Ardfinnan. In Group 3 on Sunday Galtee/Rovers were narrowly defeated by Loughmore/Castleiney in New Inn.

County Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The group stages of this years West Intermediate Hurling championship commence this Sunday April 24th with 7 West teams in action.

In Group 1 there is an all-west clash as Sean Treacys and Arravale Rovers meet in Cappawhite at 12 noon. It is the first time the sides have met in the group stages since 2013 when Sean Treacys took victory. The sides met three times that year with Arravale Rovers winning the remaining encounters in the Crosco Cup and West finals.

That game will be followed by the Group 5 clash of 2015 West champions Cashel King Cormacs and 2015 county semi-finalist Ballinahinch. This game has a 1.30pm throw in.

In Group 2 Rockwell Rovers take on 2015 South finalists St Marys in Cahir. This game has a 5pm throw in. Also in Group 2 Cappawhite make their bow in Intermediate Hurling when they take on 2015 County Junior A Hurling champions Roscrea. This game throws in at 6.30pm in Holycross.

In Group 3, 2015 West finalists Galtee Rovers travel to Cashel to take on Moycarkey/Borris. This game has a 12 noon throw in. In Group 6 Golden/Kilfeacle travel to Clonmel to take on 2015 South champions Kilsheelan/Kilcash. This game throw in at 6.30pm.

County U21B Football Championship:
Congratulations to Golden/Kilfeacle who defeated Moycarkey/Borris in the County U21B Football Championship semi-final on Saturday last in Clonmel. Golden/K had a slender one point lead at half time. They increased that lead in the second half to six points with ten minutes remaining in the game 0-12 to 0-6. Moycarkey/B finished the last ten minutes with 1-1 but Golden/K held on to advance to the County final. They will face the winners of Shannon Rovers Gaels and the South champions in this year’s decider. This county semi-final has been fixed for Monday May 2nd at 3pm in Templemore.

County U21A Football Championship:
The County U21A Football Championship semi-finals will take place on Monday May 2nd in Dundrum as a double header. West Champions Arravale Rovers will play Drom & Inch at 1.30pm and should they win they will play the winners of Newport and Clonmel Commercials which follows at 3pm, in this year’s County final.

Referee:
Best of luck to John O’Brien (Arravale Rovers) who takes charge of the Christy Ring 1st round game between Meath and Wicklow this Saturday April 23rd in Trim. .

Munster Minor Football Championship:
Hard luck to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Minor football team and management who were defeated by Cork in Pairc Ui Rinn on Wednesday night last April 13th by three points. They now play Limerick this Wednesday night April 20th in Thurles at 7pm with the winners playing Waterford in the losers group final.

Munster Minor Hurling Championship:
Best of luck to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Minor Hurling team and management who take on Waterford in the Munster Minor Hurling playoff in Walsh Park at 2pm on Saturday April 23rd.
