All Ireland Glory Scór na n-Óg – Craobh na hÉireann 2015

Bhí an-lá ag Muintir Scór Thiobraid Árann in Óstán an City West ag Craobh na hÉireann de Scór na nÓg ar an Satharn an 14ú lá de Feabhra. It was the culmination of six months of hard work and dedication for competitors, mentors ,family and friends and yet again it proved to be an unforgettable day and weekend for all.

Tráth na gCeist
First to take part in the competition were Loughmore Castleiney Trath na gCeist team under the guidance of Murt Ryan-their hardworking and enthusiastic mentor.Eimear McGrath,Micheál McGrath,Jack Cullen and Conor Ryan represented their native county with pride and aplomb and deserve all our congratulations for emerging in 5th place in the competition with a wonderful score of 61 points. Twenty nine teams took part in this All Ireland series and we are sure to see this young team represent Tipperary again in 2016. Thanks to all those parents and friends who were there to lend their support and encouragement. Maith sibh go léir.
Aithriseoireacht/Scéalaíocht
Next to the main auditorium in the City West for the remaining competitions of the day. Bhí na sluaite i lathair ach go hairithe muintir JK Brackens agus muintir Chiaráin Ó Broin ó Thiobraid Árann. Ciarán took to the stage and gave a beautiful rendition of ‘What kind of an eejit are you’-the story of the unique communication between father and son. Many a tear was shed as he performed with such composure and feeling yet we had to wait for a further 3 hours for that decision that was to announce Ciarán as All Ireland Champion. Joy,.Jubilation excitement and tears followed as Uachtarán of CLG Liam Ó Néill presented Ciarán with his Cup and Medal –last won by Tipperary in 1977. What an evening it was for Ciarán’s Family, his mentor extraordinaire Noel Joyce and all of his friends and family that travelled to City West for the event. History in the Making.

Home is the Hero
Sunday night saw Ciarán arrive in style to the Parish Hall in Clonmore to be feted by the local community. The homecoming was attended by an appreciative mix of family, friends ,supporters ,Scór officers , GAA officers, local clergy, local representatives and parishioners all. Ciarán took to the stage and recited his All Ireland winning Recitation again to the delight of the audience .The night was a tribute to the people of Clonmore for their Fleádh is Failte and it was indeed a lovely Ceiliúradh of Parish.
