“Double Honours for Lahorna in Ulster at Féile Handball 2015”
Lahorna Handball Club had a great outing in Féile Handball winning the 60×30 Cup and also took first & Second in the Skills. They also won the Division 4 40×20 Final.
On Saturday in Kingscourt Sean Hayes, Matthew Spain James Loughnane & Louis Kennedy put in a great performance beating St. Comans from Roscommon in the final 21/18, 21/3. They also excelled in the Handball Skills with Sean Hayes winning & Matthew coming in a close second. The Div. 4 team of Rory Grace , Kian O Kelly Cormac Doheny & Jack Mulcahy were in Gort na Mona in Belfast for the Group Games against Kells from Kilkenny, St. Pauls Belfast, Munterconnaught Cavan & St. Mellons in Monaghan. Lahorna Topped the Group and went on to the Finals in Coláiste Feiriste where they beat St. Mellons from Monaghan 21/12, 21/13.
Lahorna Tournament
The Lahorna Tournament is reaching the final stages in both the Intermediate sections.
On Tuesday next the first semi final of the Junior/Intermediate section will be played in Lahorna at 7.30 between Shane Spillane/Pat O’Flaherty and John Lee/Tony O’Flaherty. The second semi-final takes place on Thursday in Lahorna 7.30 between Noel Moroney/Kevin Kennedy and Paul Maher/Jerome Cahill.
Community Games.
The Community Games Munster Handball Finals will be hosted by Ballina on Saturday next commencing at 10.30 am.
