FBD Inscurace County Championships
Senior Hurling Semi Finals
Congratulations to Thurles Sarsfields and Kiladangan who have both qualified for this years FBD Insurance countysenior hurling final by virtue of two very comprehensive semi final wins over Loughmore Castleiney and Toomevara last weekend. Both finalists will now look forward to their big day which is due to take place in FBD Semple Stadium on Sunday October 15th.
Premier Intermediate Hurling Semi Finals
Thurles Sarsfields will have more than just their senior hurlers to cheer on as the clubs second team have also qualified for the FBD Insurance county Premier Intermediate hurling final thanks to a well deserved win over Killenaule in Boherlahanlast Sunday afternoon. Sarsfields opponents in the final is yet to be decided as the second semi final between Lorrha Dorrha and Cashel King Cormacs which was due to take place last Saturday afternoon did not go ahead due to the passing of Timmy Moloney who was of course an outstanding player, coach and club member of the Cashel club and we extend our sympathies to his family and club at this sad time RIP. Lorrha Dorrha and Cashel King Cormacs will now meet this coming weekend to see who will join Thurles Sarsfields in the final.
Intermediate Hurling Semi Finals
This year’s FBD Insurance Intermediate Hurling final pits neighbours and cross divisional rivals Boherlahan Dualla and Golden Kilfeacle against each other. Boherlahan Dualla were made battle all the way by Moneygall in a wind and rain swept Templetuohy last Saturday in a game that needed extra time to decide the outcome, while Golden Kilfeacle overcame Kilsheelan Kilcash in Bansha in the second semi final.
This weekend sees a return to football, nut there are also several hurling games down for decision and all the fixtures are now available on the Tipperary GAA website.
Scór News
Details have now been conformed for the 2023 Tipperary Scór Sinsear Compeitions
On Thursday October 12that 8pm in Moyne Community Centre (E41 EE39) the County Trath Na gCeist Final will take place. This is a great opportunity for teams to get involved in Scór as all that is needed is 4 to make a team. Should your club wish to enter you can email your entry via the details below.
On Friday October 13th at 7.30pm in Saint Michaels Community Hall, Holycross (E41 HT96) the stage events take place. Clubs can still enter for the stage events by emailing your entries to the email address below.
Clubs are asked to get entries in ASAP. A reminder that when sending your entries, you must include the membership number of each competitor.

Tipperary GAA Club Planning Programme
The Club Planning Programme in Tipperary is now accepting expressions of interest from clubs who are interested in developing a Strategic Plan for the club.
With the club season almost drawing to a close now is the ideal time to give this consideration. Trained facilitators from inside the county or outside are available to guide and support clubs through this process.
To get the ball rolling clubs are asked to simply fill out and return the Expression of Interest form which was circulated last week to Mark McLoughlin, county Planning & Training Officer
Leading Provincial Females Programme
As you may be aware, the Leading Provincial Females Programme was recently launched. The programme is designed for females aged 18+ interested in developing personally and also leading teams potentially through their role in Gaelic Games. There will be four programmes running consecutively – one in Connacht, Leinster, Ulster and Munster.
All participants will attend two days, one at start and one at end of programme, which will examine their leadership skills. They must also attend a mid-point evening session again focusing on their leadership skills. Finally participants must complete at least two modules from themes across the four strands of coaching, officiating, administration and PR/Media between each of those dates, minimum four in total. Participants may attend more than four modules in total if they wish but it is a minimum of two between each date.

FBD Insurance Tipperary County Finals Preview Show
In advance of the FBD Insurance County Tipperary Hurling Finals on the weekend of October 15th, Tipperary GAA are delighted to announce that a preview show for all the finals will be held in The Scouts Hall Nenagh on Friday 13th October at 8pm. The show will be a partnership between Tipp GAA TV, Clubber TV and produced by CK Streaming with all profits going to The Dillon Quirke Foundation.
Some fantastic guest speakers will appear on the night including 2 time All-Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy and All-Ireland medal winners Paddy Stapleton, Eamonn Corcoran and Conor Gleeson with more guests to be announced in the coming days.
A super night’s entertainment is guaranteed and tickets are now available, with limited capacity so don’t delay and get your tickets now to avoid disappointment. Keep an eye out on all social media channels for updates on further guests.

Best wishes to Upperchurch Drombane man Peter Ruan who is undertaking the challenge of running from Malin Head in Donegal to Mizen Head in County Cork in order to raise funds and awareness for the National Council for the Blind Ireland (NCBI). A talented hurler, less than two years after playing for the Tipperary minors his world came crashing down around him when he was diagnosed with Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy, a genetically inherited form of vision loss which left him legally blind with less than 10 per cent vision. Peter hope to complete the 586 kilometre route in just five days by running the equivalent of just over three marathons on each of those days. The NCBI is an organisation close to Ryan’s heart not just because they’ve supported him but also his younger brother Denis who a couple of years ago was also diagnosed with Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. The money that Peter will raise will go towards the development of the country’s first mobile unit, the vision van, which will travel to 150 locations nationwide providing information, awareness, and support services for sight loss and common eye conditions. Peter will start his run onOctober 8 and the plan is to make it as far as Omagh on Day 1, Edgeworthstown in Longford on Day 2, Nenagh on Day 3, Milstreet on Day four, before finishing in Mizen Head on October 12 which is World Sight Day 2023.

GAA Special Congress
Croke Park was the destination for county delegates last Saturday where a special congress was held to discuss, debateand decide on a number of motions which were down for decision. A total of 11 motions were due to be voted on the day and in the end 9 motions ended up going to the floor.
The only Motion that was defeated was Motion 1 which proposed to abolish the All-Ireland SHC Preliminary Quarter-Finals. That would have meant that the Joe McDonagh Cup finalists would no longer have an avenue into the Liam MacCarthy Cup, but it was defeated with 51 per cent of delegates voting against it.
This meant that Motion 2, which proposed to introduce a semi-final in the Joe McDonagh Cup between the teams that finish in second and third place of the round-robin group stage of the competition, was not debated or voted on. Every other proposed Motion was passed by a majority of delegates.
Motion 3 which proposed to introduce tiered knock-out competitions for the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was supported by 93 per cent of delegates.
Motion 4, which proposed the introduction of preliminary quarter-finals in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship that would involve the third and fourth placed teams in Munster and Leinster was supported by 94 per cent of delegates. This Motion also proposed Galway and Ulster teams as agreed by the Ulster and Leinster Councils would compete in the Leinster Minor Championship.
Motion 5, which proposed allowing provincial council to organise round-robin championships at U-20 level was supported by 95 per cent of delegates.
Motion 6, which proposed that All-Ireland Finals be played on or before the last Sunday in July was supported by 90 per cent of delegates.
Motion 7, which proposed making it mandatory that a county’s Central Council delegate also be a member of the county’s management committee was supported by 97 per cent of delegates.
Motion 8, which proposed allowing a Central Council delegate to serve a second five-year term after a five yearperiod has elapsed following their first term was supported by 88 per cent of delegates.
Motion 9, which proposed achieving and maintaining a gender balance in the membership of the Central Council Management Committee was supported by 79 per cent of delegates.
Motion 10, which proposed reformatting the GAA’s Official Guide so that rules relating to procedures and policies would become the responsibility of Central Council rather than Congress and be known as ‘Codes’ was supported by 86 per cent of delegates.
Motion 11, which proposed that a player must have celebrated his 17th birthday prior to January 1st of the Championship year in order to be eligible to play at adult level, and gave a county committee the flexibility to increase this minimum eligibility for specific competitions or circumstances through a competition regulation was supported by 91 per cent of delegates.
