Clean Ireland Recycling Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship

It is an all Mid clash in this year’s Clean Ireland Recycling Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Final. Mid Tipperary rivals Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore-Castleiney will do battle for the Dan Breen Cup next Sunday following their respective semi-final wins over Templederry Kenyons and Mullinahone at Semple Stadium last Sunday. Aidan McCormack posted 0-9 as Sarsfields who started without Lar Corbett, qualified for their fourth final in six years. Sarsfields led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break, and they continued to hold the upperhand thanks to scores from McCormack and Pa Bourke after the restart. The winners increased their lead to seven points before Templederry got a late goal. Credit must go to Templederry who kept battling away and who gave a very good account of themselves in their first ever county semi-final.

In the second semi –final county champions Loughmore–Castleiney had a big win over Mullinahone. John McGrath’s early goal helped Loughmore to a 1-12 to 0-7 interval lead and despite Mullinahone trying hard to get into the game Loughmore ran out easy winners. South champions Mullinahone have done really well this year and have a nice blend of young players and experienced players in their team which they can build on going forward. Special mention must go to Eddie Connolly who made a late entrance for Loughmore and who received a standing ovation from the crowd. Eddie whom we wish every success is battling cancer.

Clean Ireland Recycling County Intermediate Hurling Championship

The semi–finals of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Intermediate Hurling Championship were played last Saturday. In the second semi–final last year’s beaten county finalists Moyne–Templetuohy were in action against Mid rivals Clonakenny and Moyne–Templetuohy ran out winners by 1-12 to 0-10 to make it an all Mid county final and a repeat of this year’s Mid Final.
