Scór News

Scór made a welcome return to the stage today in the province of Munster with the 2020 Senior Final taking place in Halla Na Feile Cashel.

A super day of entertainment took place with six out of eight Tipperary acts advancing to the All-Ireland Final on November 20th in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.

Our first competitors of the day were the Moyne Templetuohy’s Quiz team who finished runners up in a very enjoyable quiz and with this qualified for the All-Ireland Final in three weeks’ time.

The main event gone underway with Tipperary represented in all disciplines on the clár. Although the programme may have been small the standard of competition on show was second to none. After a very enjoyable day for the enthusiastic crowd Newcastle claimed Rince Foirne honours with JK Bracken’s claiming the Rince Seit Trophy. In Aithriseoireacht, the ever-reliable Noel Joyce took honours for the JK Brackens Club while Siobhan Egan of Newport claimed the Solo Singing trophy following a wonderful performance.

2019 All Ireland Novelty Champions Newport reclaimed their Munster trophy with a comical sketch and they look to keep the All-Ireland trophy in the North Tipp Club for a little while longer.

Commiserations to our Ballad Group from Upperchurch Drombane who were narrowly pipped for a trophy and to our JK Brackens music group who were also narrowly defeated.

A special word of mention to former Tipperary Scor Chairperson Josephine Cahill who was a fantastic Bean an Tí on the day and was presented with a lovely piece from Munster Council Chairman Liam Lenihan.

We wish all our acts from the Premier County and indeed from the province all the best in the All Ireland Final. Please keep an eye on our social media accounts for pictures and reaction from Sunday’s Final.

It was a massive event and it showcased Tipperary Coiste Na nOg in a very positive way all over the country, for that I thank everyone who was involved.

To our referees and our field caretakers a massive thank you, only for your cooperation and hard work we could not have run National Feile so successfully.
