FBD Insurance County Championships
Last weekend saw just one game take place in the FBD Insurance County Championships. The game was the semi final of the under 19 B hurling championship between Upperchurch Drombane and Cappawhite Gaels and was played in Clonoulty on Saturday afternoon. This was a very cagey game that saw a total of 20 scores coming from placed balls and with the exception of the closing stages of the first half when they conceded 1-03, Upperchurch Drombane were in control for the majority of the game. In the end it was Cappawhite Gaels who were ahead at the final whistle on a full time score of Cappawhite Gaels 1-15 Upperchurch Drombane 0-17. The winning score coming in the 4th minute of additional time.
Next weekend will see two more finals taking place, on Saturday at 1.30pm in Golden the final of the FBD Insurance county under 19 A football championship will be played between Clonmel Commercials and Durlas Na Sairsealaigh Óg and promises to be a highly entertaining game. On Sunday the final of the FBD Insurance under 19 B hurling championship between Borris-Ileigh and Cappawhite Gaels will take place in Templederry at 1pm and should also be a great game of hurling. Tickets for both games are priced at €10 for adults and €5 for students. All U16’s are free into all games and do not require a ticket. Tipperary County Board will also be offering a tap and go service at all venues, so if you are not able to pre purchase your tickets on-line you can now pay on entry to the venue with your credit or debit card but please be aware there may be queues if too many take this option. Munster Club Championships
There were two Tipperary clubs in action last weekend in the Munster club football championship. On Saturday afternoon Thurles Sarsfields travelled to Miltown Malbay where they played Clare side Liscannor in the Quarter Final of the junior football championship. This was a very close game all through and although there were 5 points between the sides at the final whistle, the game could have gone either way right up to the last minute of additional time when Thurles Sarsfields raised the green flag and secured their place in the semi final of the competition by virtue of a 1-09 to 0-07 win. The Thurles men will now play Kilmurry from Cork on Saturday November 26th at 1pm in a Tipperary venue. On Saturday evening, Tipperary senior football champions Clonmel Commercials made the trip down the motorway to Cork where they played a highly fancied Nemo Rangers side in Pairc Uí Chaoimh. This game turned out to be a game where Clonmel Commercials showed what they were made of and why they are now considered as major contenders in this years Munster and All Ireland championship. Throughout the game they overran and outsmarted their opponents and their running game was direct and purposeful. Tipperary senior footballers Jason Lonergan and Sean O’Connor were outstanding and contributed 1-10 between them as Commercials went on to claim victory by 2-15 to 1-11 and in doing so secured a home semi final clash with Limericks Newcastle West on Sunday November 27th at 1pm.
The attention in the Munster club championship next weekend turns to hurling and the focus of attention for Tipperary supporters will be on FBD Semple Stadium on Saturday where Roscrea will play Inniscarra of Cork at 1.15pm in the Intermediate semi final. Tickets for this game as well as streaming passes can now be purchased from the Munster GAA website.

Scór News
The TF Royal Theatre saw Gaels from across the country descend for the All Ireland Senior Scór Final 2022 last weekend. Tipperary proudly ascended with four acts competing on the big day, representing their club, county and province on the national stage. Newcastle, JK Brackens and Newport brought their travelling support to the theatre and they were heard throughout the day. All four acts competed wonderfully to the large audience and everyone waited with bated breath for Fear an Tí Alastair Ó’Beacháin to announce the results. The opening competition Rince Foirne saw Newcastle announced as All Ireland Champions for the third time in succession. Scenes of delight for coach Kathy and the eight wonderful dancers.
JK Bracken’s Noel Joyce was extremely unlucky not to be crowned champion as he was defeated by Armagh’s Dónal Morgan. Newport’s Ballad Group were also unfortunate in their quest as was their Nuachleas who also suffered defeat. For those present or watching ar líne it’s fair to say that the standard of competition was fantastic.
Tipperary Scór would like to congratulate Newcastle on their three in a row, a fantastic achievement for a superb bunch of cailiní. While success eluded both the competitors from JK Brackens and Newport, it is an amazing achievement to reach a national final and they should be very proud of their efforts.

Resources available for clubs organising AGMs
A number of resources to assist clubs preparing for AGMs are available.
Recently a one hour webinar was held providing information on how to prepare for and run the meeting smoothly. Templates for motion forms, nomination forms, minutes, sign-in sheet, and standing orders are also provided. Planning and training officer for the GAA Jack McCarney says valuable assistance and guidance is provided to clubs. “It is AGM season around now, the whole idea of this is to have a suite of resources available to assist clubs as much as possible in running their AGM,” McCarney says.
The GAA organised a webinar to help club officers plan for AGMs. “A couple of weeks ago we held a webinar that was presented by Simon Moroney and Pat Teehan, who are members of the rules advisory committee,” McCarney adds. “They very kindly gave up their time to present a one hour webinar on how to effectively run a club AGM. There was a questions and answers session to assist anyone who attended. “So we have recorded that and made it available on the GAA learning YouTube channel with the slides Simon and Pat used, they are available online too. “We have a suite of resources with different templates clubs may use to run their AGMs. All of that is available online. The hope is to get clubs aware of what is available to them in order to assist them as much as possible.”
