By: Tim Floyd, Co Secretary.

Waterford Crystal SH

Tipperary recorded a 24 point victory over LIT in the preliminary round of the Waterford Crystal Cup SH competition at MacDonagh Park Nenagh last Sunday, winning by 3-20 to 0-5. Heavy rain made hurling difficult but it didn’t stop the new young guns like Cathal Barrett, Jack Peters, Ronan Maher, Conor Kenny, David Collins and Denis Maher from laying down their marker for a place in the Allianz League line up in Feb. Next Sunday Tipp will play Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee in the Quarter Final. Eamonn Kelly of Kildangan and Brian Horgan of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams were recently appointed as manager and coach respectively of the Kerry senior hurling team for 2014 and to complete the Tipperary connections, Brendan Cummins is overseeing the goalkeeper coaching. Tipperary’s first Allianz League outing is at home to Waterford under lights in Semple Stadium on Saturday night February 15th.

County Intermediate Hurling League Final

The long awaited 2013 IH League final was played last Sunday in Templetuohy and ended in a draw with the score Drom-Inch 1-7 Moyne/Templetuohy 1-7.
