Tipperary Minor Hurlers
Tipperary’s Minor Hurlers will travel to Limerick this Saturday June 27th as they bid to capture the Electric Ireland All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship title when they face the home side in the Final at the TUS Gaelic Grounds at 3.00 pm.
Tipperary will be aiming to claim a 23rd All Ireland Minor Hurling title in what will be the county’s 36th year in the Final. Of their previous 37 appearances, Tipperary have won 22 titles, lost 13 Finals and drawn twice.
There is also a piece of history that may offer encouragement to Tipperary supporters. Years ending in “6” have proven particularly memorable for the county at minor level. Tipperary captured All Ireland Minor Hurling titles in 1956, 1976, 1996, 2006 and 2016.
The 1956 winning team was captained by Pat Ryan of Moycarkey Borris while Joe Hogan of Roscrea captained the 1976 side. Tipperary GAA’s social media channels recently featured footage from that memorable 1976 victory. William Maher of Ballingarry captained the 1996 champions, Joey McLoughney of Toomevara led the county to glory in 2006 while Brian McGrath of Loughmore Castleiney captained the 2016 All Ireland winning side.
This will be just the second All Ireland Minor Hurling Final meeting between Tipperary and Limerick. The counties previously met in the 2016 decider when Brian McGrath’s Tipperary side secured a 1-21 to 0-17 victory.

Tipperary’s most frequent opponents in All Ireland Minor Hurling Finals have been Kilkenny, with the counties meeting on 15 occasions. Tipperary have won eight of those encounters and lost seven. They have faced Galway nine times in the Final, recording six victories, one draw and two defeats. Against Dublin, Tipperary have contested seven Finals, winning three, drawing one and losing three. Their record against Offaly stands at one win and one defeat from two meetings while Tipperary have a 100% record in their only Final appearances against Limerick, Cork, Laois and Wexford.
Saturday’s contest will also see Tipperary and Limerick meet for the third time in this year’s Minor Championship adding another intriguing chapter to the rivalry. The counties previously met three times in the same championship season at Senior level in the 2007 Munster Championship while the Under 21 sides also clashed three times during the 1991 Munster Championship. On both occasions, Limerick ultimately emerged victorious.
With the Final fast approaching, Tipperary GAA is encouraging clubs across the county to get behind our talented minor hurlers and make the journey to the TUS Gaelic Grounds. We are asking clubs to organise buses and bring along as many juvenile players and supporters as possible to create a sea of blue and gold and roar the team on in their quest for All Ireland glory. As an added incentive, Tipperary GAA sponsor Clover has generously offered to cover the cost of one lucky club’s bus to the game. Clubs can enter the competition by booking a bus and registering their details, with the winning club to be announced on Wednesday night.
Ticket prices for the Final are €20 for adults, €15 for students and OAPs, and €5 for juveniles. These prices apply to both the Mackey Stand and the Open Stand.
There will be no ticket sales through Lár na Páirce and no tap-and-go facility available at the venue. All tickets must be purchased in advance online or through participating Centra and SuperValu outlets. Clubs wishing to bring groups of juveniles can purchase tickets online, with a maximum of eight juvenile tickets and two adult tickets per transaction.

FBD Insurance County Leagues
Clerihan secured the FBD Insurance County Hurling League Division 6 title with a 2-14 to 0-12 victory over Moyne Templetuohy last week in New Inn. The triumph completed a remarkable double for the South Tipperary club coming just days after their Division 4 Football League Final success over Rockwell Rovers. Goals proved decisive in the Hurling final. With the sides level midway through the opening half, an Eoin Rice goal helped Clerihan gain the upper hand and they carried a narrow 1-5 to 0-7 advantage into the break. Clerihan continued to control proceedings in the second half and, leading by five points midway through the period, effectively sealed victory when Eoin Power found the net. The South side finished strongly and were deserving winners on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-12. Following the game, Clerihan captain Leo Curtin accepted the Pauline Coonan Cup on behalf of his victorious team.

The Division 5 Final between Ballybacon Grange and Kilruane MacDonaghs took place last Tuesday 23rd with no result at time of going to print.
Divisional Championships
The Divisional Championships across the Senior, Premier Intermediate and Intermediate grades in both hurling and football are now in full swing.
There was plenty of action in the Shane Hennessy Ltd. Agri & Business Consultancy West Senior Football Championship over the past week. Both Semi Finals took place on Wednesday June 17th with Aherlow securing a 1-12 to 0-11 victory over Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill while Golden-Kilfeacle recorded an impressive 3-13 to 0-7 win over Arravale Rovers. The Final was played last Sunday and proved to be a highly entertaining contest. Aherlow and Golden Kilfeacle could not be separated after 60 minutes with the sides level at 1-15 apiece. However, Golden-Kilfeacle dominated extra time to claim the title on a final scoreline of 2-23 to 1-16. Attention now turns to the Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship. The first Semi Final takes place this Friday June 26th at 7.30 pm in Annacarty, where neighbours Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams and Clonoulty Rossmore go head-to-head. The second Semi Final will see defending champions Cappawhite take on Arravale Rovers in Dundrum on Sunday, July 5th, at 12 noon. The first game of the ArraTipp West Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship commences this Sunday June 28th with the meeting of defending champions Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Sean Treacys in Cappawhite at 1.00 pm.

There were Senior and Intermediate Finals taking place in the South last Sunday in football. Clonmel Commercials claimed the Clonmel Oil South Senior Football Championship title for 2026 after a hard earned 3-16 to 2-16 victory over a gallant Grangemockler Ballyneale side. The game went to extra time after the teams finished level at 3-10 to 2-13 at the end of normal time. Killenaule captured the McCarra Bus Hire South Intermediate Football Championship title following a comfortable 3-18 to 1-11 victory over Cahir. Carrick Swan claimed the South Premier Junior Football title after a 2-14 to 2-12 victory over Fr Sheehys. Attention now turns to the South Intermediate Hurling Championship with the Quarter Finals taking place this coming Sunday as a double header at Clonmel Sportsfield. Kilsheelan Kilcash face Moyle Rovers at 5.00 pm while Carrick Davins take on Ballybacon Grange at 6.45 pm.
In the North, there were Quarter Final victories for Nenagh Éire Óg over Toomevara (2-23 to 2-18) and Roscrea over Kilruane MacDonaghs (1-26 to 1-21) in the Munster Solar North Senior Hurling Championship. Nenagh Éire Óg and Roscrea will now meet in one Semi Final while Kiladangan and Borris-Ileigh contest the other. Both games are scheduled for the weekend of July 4th/5th. In the Liam Buckley Car Sales North Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Quarter Finals, Moneygall defeated Burgess by 2-22 to 1-22 while Lorrha Dorrha recorded a comfortable 1-31 to 1-22 victory over Templederry Kenyons. The Semi Final line up sees Lorrha Dorrha take on Ballina with Moneygall facing Silvermines. These games will also be played on the weekend of July 4th/5th. The Final of the Jim McLoughney North Intermediate Hurling Championship takes place this Saturday June 27th at 7.00 pm in MacDonagh Nenagh where Portroe will face Newport.
The Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals will take place this coming weekend. JK Brackens and Moycarkey Borris face off this Friday at 7.30 pm in The Ragg. Boherlahan hosts a double header this Sunday. First up at 12 noon – Drom Inch face Holycross Ballycahill while at 2.00 pm – Thurles Sarsfields take on Upperchurch Drombane. The Senior and Premier Intermediate Hurling Semi Finals will take place on the weekend of July 4th/5th.
Long Puck
The Munster Long Puck Finals took place on the Galtee Mountains on Saturday, June 13th with Tipperary represented by County Senior champion Cormac Bourke of JK Brackens and County Under 16 champion Liam Crosse of Ballinahinch.
Liam Crosse finished in second place in the Under 16 competition while Cormac Bourke placed third in the Senior grade.
Congratulations to both Liam and Cormac on their performances and for representing their clubs and county in the Munster Finals.
Handball News by PRO Paddy Collins
A busy weekend for handball saw both juveniles and adults contesting All Ireland Finals.
On Saturday in Tuamgraney, Tipperary had three girls on the Munster Inter-Provincial team: Emily Monaghan and Katlyn Ryan Dempsey from Ballina, and Molly Joyce from Newport. They were up against a very strong Leinster team in the final and were defeated 87–56. They were presented with their silver medals by Kevin Cooke, GAA Handball President.
Next on the programme in Tuamgraney was the Boys U12/13 Team Final against Kilkenny. The Tipperary team consisted of Alfie Finn, Conor Nolan and Shay Lonergan from Carrick-on-Suir; Paddy Delaney and Johnny Delaney from Cashel; and Joe Finch and Gearóid White from Lahorna. Kilkenny came out on top in this one and Tipperary had to settle for silver medals.
In the adult grades, Tipperary players were in action at three Leinster venues on Sunday: Crinkle in Offaly, and Clogh and Kilfane in Kilkenny.
In Crinkle, Billy Mullins from Clonmel had an easy victory in the Over 70s, beating Eugene Moloney of Mayo 21–1, 21–3. In the Diamond Masters Singles (DMAS), also in Crinkle, Kevin Mullins of Clonmel lost out to Tom McCormack from Mayo by the narrowest of margins, being beaten 11–10 in a tie-break. In the Golden Masters B Final in Crinkle, John Kennedy from Silvermines was beaten by Josian Oskocz from Sligo 21–16, 21–9.
In Clogh, in the Golden Masters A grade, Martin McInerney of Ballina had a tough encounter with Conor Maxwell from Dublin. After some long rallies throughout, the Dublin man came out on top to win 21–14, 21–10.
Also in Clogh, Karen Monaghan of Ballina contested the Ladies Over 35 Singles Final against Meath’s Sinead Forde. The Meath player cruised to an easy 21–5 first-game win. The second game was close early on until Karen, with some great serving and passing shots, went on to win 21–14.
In the tie-break to 11, the Meath player looked to have the game won when leading 7–0, but a great fightback by Karen saw the game level. Although the Meath lady went in twice more to serve, the title went to Tipperary, with Karen winning 11–7.
In Kilfane, in the Junior B Singles, David Reilly from Ballyporeen was very unlucky losing out in a tie-break 11–6 to Dan Connors from Wexford.
Also in Kilfane, in the U21 Singles Final, Evan Carey from Ballina was up against Jamie Barron from Kilkenny. The Tipp man put in a great effort and the scoreline did not reflect how close the game was, especially in the first game.

Bulmers sponsored Jubilee Golf Classic
The 2001 All Ireland Senior Hurling champions last week launched their Jubilee Golf Classic with Bulmers coming on board as the event sponsor.
The Golf Classic, which takes place on Friday, July 3rd at Thurles Golf Club, forms part of the team’s celebrations ahead of being honoured as the Jubilee Team at this year’s All Ireland Final.
Teams of four can enter for €200, while tee-box sponsorship opportunities are available for €50. Supporters can also show their support through donations or by entering the event raffle.

Tipperary GAA Cúl Camps – Coach Recruitment
Tipperary GAA are currently recruiting coaches for the 2026 Cúl Camps programme. Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before 6th July.
Full training and support will be provided before camps begin, with camps taking place throughout the county, offering successful applicants the opportunity to work locally and gain valuable experience.
The role also provides a strong reference for CVs while helping to deliver fun, safe and active camps for children across the county.
Camps will run from Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, beginning on Sunday 6th July.

Inclusive Cúl Camps
Tipperary GAA will host two Inclusive Cúl Camps this summer giving children of all abilities the chance to enjoy Gaelic games in a fun and welcoming environment. With the message “Everyone Plays, Everyone Belongs”, the camps focus on participation, enjoyment and friendship.

2026 Tipperary Club Season Pass
