Tipperary Senior Footballers
Well done to the Senior Footballers on their hard earned 0–15 to 1–7 victory over Waterford last Sunday in Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field, Dungarvan, in the Munster Semi Final. Manager Niall Fitzgerald gave championship debut starts to Charlie King, Joe Higgins, Shane Garland, Killian Butler and Eoin Craddock. It was a slow paced opening with Waterford leading at half-time by 1–3 to 0–5. A goal from Michael O’Brien in the 22nd minute put Waterford ahead by 1–1 to 0–2. Tipperary responded well with points from Eoin Craddock and Cian Smith levelling the game three minutes later but Waterford regained the lead before the break. Seán O’Connor impressed for the Premier in the second half and his two pointer seven minutes after the restart gave his side a two point lead. Waterford were unable to regain control from that point on. O’Connor went on to score six points in the second half as Tipperary held out for a deserved victory.

Tipperary Senior Hurlers
Best of luck to the Tipperary Senior Hurlers as they commence their 2026 Championship campaign this Sunday 19th April at 4.00 pm in FBD Semple Stadium where they will face Cork. This will be the 94th championship clash between the counties. The competitiveness of the rivalry is reflected in the head to head record with Cork narrowly ahead on 41 wins to Tipperary’s 40 alongside 8 draws. Four games in 1888, 1905, 1926 and 1987 were never finished.
In the last five championship meetings, Cork have won three – all in group stage clashes: 4-27 to 0-24 in 2025, 4-30 to 1-21 in 2024 and 3-30 to 1-24 in 2022. Tipperary were victorious in the most recent knockout encounter – winning the All Ireland title in 2025 with a scoreline of 3-27 to 1-28. The 2023 group game ended in a draw, 2-25 to 4-19, with Gearóid O’Connor and Mark Kehoe scoring Tipperary’s goals.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s game, a capacity crowd is expected so supporters are urged to leave in plenty of time. Please take into account potential delays due to roadworks, particularly for those travelling from the Nenagh road to Thurles. Supporters are asked to download their tickets in advance to their phone or print them as screenshots will not be accepted for entry. Please park responsibly, follow steward/Gardai directions and be mindful of local residents at all times.
Supporters are encouraged to arrive early as the Tipperary Senior Camogie team take on Cork at 2.00 pm in FBD Semple Stadium, providing a great opportunity to get behind the camogie team before the senior hurling clash.
The Senior Hurling game will be shown live on RTÉ2 as well as Tipp FM for those that cant make it.

Tipperary Under 20 Footballers
Tipperary’s Under 20 Footballers produced a superb second half performance last Saturday evening at Mick Neville Park to claim the John Kerins Cup defeating Limerick by 2-16 to 2-2 in the Dalata Hotel Group Munster Under 20 ‘B’ Football Final.
Played in tough conditions, Limerick made a flying start with a goal inside the opening minute and added a second midway through the half to lead 2-2 to 0-0 at the break.
Captained by Liam Freaney, Tipperary responded in emphatic fashion keeping Limerick scoreless in the second half. Dylan Cotter’s excellent two pointer got Tipp up and running before an Oran Gahan point and Freaney struck for a goal and added a two pointer in quick succession saw Tipp draw level and push on thereafter.
The introduction of substitutes proved key with Ciaran Kelly hitting 1-2 and points from Darragh Bresnan and Jamal Yousif adding to the tally as Tipp finished with 2-16 without reply.
Tipperary now progress to the All Ireland ‘B’ Semi Final where they will face the Connacht ‘B’ champions. Fixture details are yet to be confirmed.

Tipperary Minor Footballers
Hard luck to the Minor Footballers who lost out to Clare on a 2-6 t0 2-8 scoreline last Monday in Clarecastle in Round 3 of Phase 1 of the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship. With the aid of the breeze in the first half, Clare were well on top and Tipperary struggled to get the ball into their forwards. Clare led after the first quarter by 1-3 to 0-0. A Danny Cashin 45 was Tipperary’s only score of the half as the Banner led 1-6 to 0-1 at half time. Clare made a great start to the second half, scoring two early points to stretch their lead to ten. However, Tipperary settled into the game. A Conor O’Meara goal from the penalty spot was soon followed by a Cillian Morrissey point. Further scores from O’Meara, Jack Donnelly and an excellent Hugh Carolan two pointer brought Tipperary to within two points of Clare. Soon after, Carolan played a big role in setting up Cillian Morrissey for Tipperary’s second goal giving them the lead for the first time in the game. However, victory was not to be for Tipperary as Clare scored a goal in injury time to secure the win. Tipperary fail to progress to Phase 2 of the Munster Championship and will now take part in the All Ireland Minor ‘C’ Football Series in the coming weeks.
Tipperary Scorers:
Cillian Morrissey 1-1, Conor O’Meara 1-1 (1f, goal pen), Hugh Carolan 0-2 (2p), Jack Donnelly 0-1, Danny Cashin 0-1 (45).
