Tipperary Senior Footballers
Hard luck to the Tipperary Senior Footballers whose Tailteann Cup campaign came to an end following defeat to Wicklow on a 1-17 to 0-12 scoreline in Round 3 at Aughrim last Saturday evening. The game got off to a slow start with the opening score not arriving until the seventh minute when Wicklow registered the first point of the contest. The Garden County soon struck a major blow when Kevin Quinn found the net to give the hosts the ideal start. Tipperary gradually settled into the game and enjoyed a strong spell before the interval. Sean O’Connor edged Tipp in front for the first time on 25 minutes with a two point free leaving the Premier County ahead by 0-6 to 1-2. Wicklow quickly responded to level matters but a point from Steven O’Brien ensured Tipperary held a narrow 0-7 to 1-3 lead at half time.
Having played with the aid of the breeze in the opening half, Tipp knew a one point advantage would be difficult to defend after the break. They made an encouraging start to the second period with scores from Sean O’Connor and Paddy Creedon extending the lead to three points.
However, Wicklow responded impressively, hitting three points in as many minutes to draw level before taking control of the contest. A two point effort from Kevin Quinn midway through the half proved a key score as the home side built momentum and pushed clear on the scoreboard. Despite Tipp’s efforts, Wicklow finished strongly to secure victory and progression in the competition.
Hard luck to manager Niall Fitzgerald and his management team. Great work has been put in by both players and management throughout the year. With a young squad showing plenty of promise – there is every reason to be optimistic about the future of Tipperary football.

Following the game against Wicklow, Tipperary captain Paudie Feehan presented a donation from the Senior Football panel to Martin Dwyer, Chairman of the Friends of Tipperary Football, to help cover the costs of the supporters’ bus which travelled to Aughrim.
The contribution was made as a token of appreciation to the supporters whose unwavering backing and travel throughout the season has meant so much to the team.

Tipperary Minor Hurlers
The Tipperary Minor Hurlers have qualified for the Electric Ireland All Ireland Minor Hurling Semi Final where they will face Cork in a hugely anticipated clash. The game takes place this Saturday June 13th at 2.00 pm in TUS Gaelic Grounds, Limerick. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and supporters are encouraged to secure their tickets early. A large Tipperary support can make a real difference on the day so let’s get behind the lads as they bid to book their place in the All Ireland Final. Best of luck to the players and management in what promises to be a great game.

Celtic Challenge
Hard luck to the Tipperary Blue Under 17 Celtic Challenge side who were desperately unlucky to lose to Kilkenny last Saturday in Abbotstown in the Corn Michael Hogan Division 1 Final. The final score was 2-13 to 2-12 in Kilkenny’s favour.
Kilkenny had the better of the opening half and led 0-8 to 0-4 at the break. An early second half goal from Liam O’Brien stretched the Cats’ advantage to six points and left Tipp facing an uphill battle. However, Morgan O’Connor responded within two minutes with a goal from the penalty spot to cut the deficit to three and give Tipp renewed hope. Kilkenny then hit three points in succession over the next four minutes to restore their advantage.
With five minutes remaining, Tipp trailed by four points but O’Connor struck for his second goal to reduce the gap to just one. He then followed up with a free to level the game and set up a tense finish. A Daniel McDonnell point with two minutes remaining edged Tipp in front and Eoin Kennedy quickly added another to leave the Premier County two points clear. However, six minutes into injury time, James Ryan found the net from a free to snatch victory for Kilkenny and inflict heartbreak on Tipperary. Hard luck to all the players, who put in a tremendous effort throughout the year and to Noel McKelvey and his management team for their dedication and commitment.

FBD Insurance County Leagues
County Football League
The Division 3 Final between neighbours Ballingarry and St. Patrick’s will take place this Thursday June 11th at 7.30 pm in Cloneen. The Division 4 Final sees Clerihan face Rockwell Rovers which takes place on Sunday June 14th at 12 noon in Rosegreen.
County Hurling League
Congratulations to Arravale Rovers who claimed the FBD Insurance County Hurling League Division 3 title last Sunday evening in Bansha with a 0-25 to 1-18 final victory over Golden Kilfeacle. The sides were level at 0-4 apiece after ten minutes but Golden Kilfeacle gradually edged in front and held the advantage for the remainder of the half – taking a 0-13 to 0-10 lead into the break. Arravale Rovers made a strong start to the second half drawing level early on before moving four points clear midway through the half thanks to some excellent shooting from Cormac Maher, Johnny Ryan and Orrin Jones. They continued to build momentum and stretched their lead to seven points with an impressive display. Golden Kilfeacle battled to the end and were rewarded with a late consolation goal from Tom Byrnes but the Rovers had done enough to secure the title.

Congratulations to Holycross Ballycahill who claimed the FBD Insurance County Hurling League Division 4 title last Friday evening in The Ragg with a comfortable 5-16 to 1-8 victory over Toomevara. Holycross Ballycahill were the better side throughout and raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead in the opening minutes. The first goal of the game arrived in the ninth minute through Jack Dwan. Three minutes later, Dwan struck for his second goal, before Tony Maher raised a third green flag in the 13th minute to leave Holycross firmly in control. Audie Lohan added a fourth goal before the break as Holycross Ballycahill took a commanding 4-8 to 0-6 lead into half-time. Any hopes of a Toomevara comeback were effectively ended just 20 seconds after the restart when Tony Maher struck for Holycross’ fifth goal. Liam Hackett replied with a goal for Toomevara eight minutes into the second half to leave the score at 5-10 to 1-7 but it proved only a consolation score. Holycross Ballycahill remained in complete control and comfortably saw out the remainder of the contest to secure the Division 4 title in impressive fashion.

The Division 1 Final will see Cashel King Cormacs take on Kiladangan in The Ragg this coming Sunday June 14th at 3.30 pm. The Division 2 Final takes place on Friday June 12th at 7.00 pm in Cashel where Boherlahan Dualla will face Killenaule,
Division 5 Semi Final took place last Tuesday 9th June in Cloughjordan where Kilruane MacDonaghs hosted Cashel King Cormacs with no result at time of going to print. The winners will face Ballybacon Grange in the Final.
In Division 6 – Clerihan take on Moyne Templetuohy on Thursday 18th June at 7.30 pm in New Inn.

The Tipperary Masters will face Dublin next – the game will take place in Borrisoleigh this Saturday June 13th at 3.00 pm.

Well done to Newcastle’s Michael Kennedy who refereed the Leinster Senior Hurling Final between Galway and Dublin last Saturday in Croke Park.
Cumann na mBunscol County Finals

Long Puck
Tipperary hosted its County Senior and Under 16 Long Puck Competition last Friday.
Congratulations to Liam Crosse of Ballinahinch on winning the County Under 16 Long Puck Championship, and to Cormac Bourke of JK Brackens on claiming the Senior title.
Both will represent Tipperary on the Galtee Mountain next Saturday June 13th in the Munster Finals, hosted by Limerick GAA.
We wish both participants every success as they take on the best long puck competitors from across Munster and represent their clubs and county with pride.
Jubilee Golf Classic
The victorious 2001 All Ireland Senior Hurling Champions will host a special Jubilee Golf Classic as part of their celebrations ahead of being honoured as the Jubilee Team at this year’s All Ireland Senior Hurling Final in Croke Park.
The Golf Classic promises to be a fantastic occasion for supporters, clubs, businesses and friends of Tipperary GAA to come together and celebrate one of the county’s most iconic and beloved teams.

Tipperary GAA Cúl Camps – Coach Recruitment
Tipperary GAA are currently recruiting coaches for the 2026 Cúl Camps programme. Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before 6th July.
Full training and support will be provided before camps begin, with camps taking place throughout the county, offering successful applicants the opportunity to work locally and gain valuable experience.
The role also provides a strong reference for CVs while helping to deliver fun, safe and active camps for children across the county.
Camps will run from Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, beginning on Sunday 6th July.

Inclusive Cúl Camps
Tipperary GAA will host two Inclusive Cúl Camps this summer, providing children of all abilities with the opportunity to enjoy fun, friendship and Gaelic games in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
The camps will focus on participation, enjoyment and making friends, with the message that “Everyone Plays, Everyone Belongs”.
Inclusive Camp 1 will take place in Cahir GAA on July 21st, 22nd and 23rd from 11am to 1pm each day.
Inclusive Camp 2 will take place in Coolmore Morris Park, Thurles, on August 11th, 12th and 13th, also running from 11am to 1pm daily.

Under 13 Club Player Divisional Camps
Tipperary GAA will host a series of Under 13 Club Player Divisional Camps this summer, aimed at helping young players develop their football, hurling and athletic development skills in a fun and enjoyable environment.
The two-day camps will run from 10am to 1pm daily and are open to players born in 2013. The cost of attendance is €60, with all players receiving a Tipperary GAA rucksack and water bottle.
The Mid Tipperary Camp will take place in Coolmore Morris Park, Thurles on July 21st and 22nd.
The West Tipperary Camp will be hosted by Arravale Rovers GAA Club on July 28th and 29th.
The North Tipperary Camp will take place in Portroe GAA Club on August 5th and 6th, while the South Tipperary Camp will be held in Clonmel Óg GAA Club on the same dates.

These camps promise to provide young players with an excellent opportunity to learn, develop and enjoy being part of Tipperary GAA.

Ballina hosted the last of the Munster 60×30 Juvenile finals . In the Gu12Singles Eabha Malone Newport was defeated by Caithlin Hennessy from Cork. In the GU13D Final Ella Slattery & Faye Ryan Ballina were defeated by Ashling O Toole & Lucy Morrissey from Cork. Tipperary Juveniles travelled to Kilglass in Roscommon for the Battle of the Shannon One wall tournament . We had success in the Girls U13 where Emily Monaghan from Ballina won all her games and beat Tara Hall from Kilglass in the Final.

Friends of Tipperary Football Golf Classic
The Friends of Tipperary Football Golf Classic will take place in Thurles Golf Club on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June 2026.
The competition will be played as a Team of 4 Champagne Scramble, with entry priced at €200 per team, which includes a meal for four after the round.
There will be special prizes for Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin in both the male and female categories, while an additional competition will also be held for all-ladies teams.
