TIPPERARY RETAIN THEIR ALL IRELAND U16A CAMOGIE TITLE
TIPPERARY 3.13 GALWAY 1.07
Last Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick Tipperary defeated Galway to retain their All Ireland title. This was a great performance from the Tipperary girls who were the dominant side for most of the match. Captained by Karen Kennedy (Thurles Sarsfields) who led a tremendous back line and with corner forward Sinead Meagher (Kildangan) scoring a hatrick of goals their was no stopping Tipperary. Our pairing of Sinead Buckley (Annacarty) and Ciardha Maher (Burgess/Duharra) controlled the midfield with player of the match Grace O’Brien (Nenagh) scoring nine points,to give Tipperary a deserved win 3.13 to 1.07.
The county board would like to acknowledge the tremendous effort put in by manager Brian Boyle, mentors Ailish Maher and Bill Mullaney without these experienced coaches training would have been much tougher. Finally we would like to thank a great bunch of highly skilled girls for their dedication to training in all weathers with smiles on their faces, you have done yourselves and your county proud.
