MATCH REPORT CORVILLE N.S. WIN THEIR GROUP BLITZ
On the 6 of October Corville NS took part in a blitz in Toomevara. At half 11 we played our first match against Borrisleigh. The starting team for us was in goals Jamie Nash, John Quealy and Shane Feehan were the two corner backs, full back was Kyle Dooley and he was also the captain. In the middle of the field were Martin Mulrooney and Dayle Collins O’ Meara. Up in the forwards were Robbie Farrell on the left and Ryan Thompson on the right. Tommy Murphy played centre forward. We played well in our first match. We scored a good few goals but right from the first whistle we were on top and that’s how we won because we worked hard. We played well and everything was going good but there was a few little things we needed to improve on, like catching the ball a lot more and letting the ball go a bit quicker. In the second game we faced Portroe and the rain came pouring down. We were kind of shaky in the first half. We needed to pull ourselves together in the slippy conditions. It is hard to hold on to the ball but in the end we managed to pull through and win by a few points. When we got back into the dressing room Mr. Slattery was pleased but he said we have to work on catching the ball because we left a few slip out of our hands and if we let it happen against big teams it would be costly. We had two girls on our squad and they were a huge help, Nicole Brooks and Elsie Delaney are their names. Thanks to our coaches Mr. Slattery, Mr. Phelan and Mr. Darcy for training us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The amount of effort they put into training us is brilliant and hopefully we can thank them by winning on the field. By Tommy Murphy.

LISSENHALL IN U13 ROINN D BLITZ
Lissenhall N.S. played two very entertaining games in their under 13 girls blitz in Dolla. In the first game, Birdhill proved to be a little too strong for Lissenhall, winning 5-4 to 1-3. Áine Tuohy got the Lissenhall goal, while Áine Milner added two points and Aoife Hogan got one. In the second game, Lissenhall put in a fantastic team performance to come out on top in their game against Boher. Áine Milner was a constant thorn in the defence, scoring 4-1, Áine Tuohy got 1-2, Aoife Cusack was excellent in attack scoring 1-1, Julie Ryan got a great goal and Ciara Gleeson also got her name on the score sheet adding a point. Lissenhall won by 7-5 to 2-1. We also had very good performances in both games from goalkeeper Devlyn Spillane, Liadh Collins and Emma Freeman.

MOUTHGUARDS
As the football season begins schools are reminded of the importance of mudguards for all children participating in Cumann na mBunscol matches. Both boys and girls playing in Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football fixtures must wear mouth guards without exception at all times. It would be advised that schools would also use mouth guards when training to allow children to get used to using them and to follow best practice.

REPORTER OF THE WEEK
Schools are reminded and encouraged to send news and updates of their progress in the football championships for the coming season. Reports can be a great writing topic for the classroom and are an opportunity for children to see their work published for a wider audience. In the pre-season championship build-up children could be given the chance to tell about their own training regiments and tips for the coming championship. A Reporter of the Week will be chosen and their work included in the weekly report. Please ensure all reports are a single paragraph in Verdana 10 type. All submissions should be proof-read by the teacher before submission.
