TIPPERARY ALLIANZ CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL REPORT 27th JANUARY BY JOHN MANLEY

AGM OF MUNSTER CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL 2014

The Annual General Meeting of Cumann an mBunscol, Coiste na Mumhan took place in Ennis last Friday. Robert Frost, Cathaoirleach of Comhairle na Mumhan, Michael Mc Donagh, Chairman Clare County Board and Michael McCarthy, Leas Cathoirleach of Munster Coaching and Games Committee, were among the invited guests. Joe Lyons, Cathaoirleach, presided. In the course of his address, he stated that approximately 1,000 schools are active in Cumann na mBunscol activities in the Province of Munster. He thanked the Munster Council for the use of Aras Mumhan for meetings and for the support, financial and otherwise, that the Council gives to the work of Cumann na mBunscol. Mr Lyons wished Comhairle na Mumhan well in its quest to identify a sponsor for the Primary Go Games exhibition games.The following officers were elected for the coming year: Cathaoirleach: Seosamh O Laighin (Luimneach), Leas cathaoirleach: Tomas Ó hAiniféin (Ciarraí), Rúnaí: Cillian Ó Raghallaigh (Port Láirge), Cisteoir: Mairead Ni Cheallacháin (Corcaigh), Oifigeach Caidrimh Poibli: Aodán Ó Rinn (Toibrad Árann), Oifigeach Forbartha: An Bráthair Séamus Ó Duidhíorma (Luimneach)

TIPPERARY ALLIANZ CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL AGM

The Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Annual General Meeting will take place in mid February. Secretary Aodan Wrenn will email all schools the date, venue and time of the A.G.M. next week.

He will also email the 2014 Entry Forms for Hurling and Camogie to all schools.

EQUIPMENT SCHEME 2014

Our Equipment Scheme evening takes place in Scoil Ailbhe Primary School, Thurles, between 5.00pm and 8.00pm on Friday. 21st March, 2014. All order forms and information forms have been forwarded to schools by email and are available to download/view on our website.

REGISTRATION FEE 2014

All schools should forward the registration fee of €30.00 to our Treasurer Jerry McDonnell, 25 Ballingarrane, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Please note this is an annual fee which covers a school for a calendar year. Payment of this fee entitles schools to participate in all Cumann na mBunscol activities for 2014.

REPORTER OF THE WEEK

Schools are reminded and encouraged to send news and updates of their progress in the hurling championships for the coming season. Reports on upcoming challenge games would be hugely appreciated. Reports should include, in as much as possible, school names, referee, venue, final score and a balanced account of the match. A Reporter of the Week will be chosen and their work included in the weekly report. Please ensure all reports are a single paragraph in Verdana 10 type. All submissions should be proof-read by the teacher before submission.
