Our Medal presentations took place at the Horse & Jockey Hotel on Sunday evening November 13th. We had a packed house to witness all the victorious captains accepting medals on behalf of their teams.
Among the attendance were officers from all the divisional boards and also County chairman Michael Bourke and PRO Joe Bracken.
Bórd PRO Neil Ryan was master of ceremony who introduced chairman Tom Dawson who in his address welcomed everyone and went briefly through the occurrences of the year. The presentations commenced with the football as each captain was introduced and accepted the medals from Kieran Maguire representing our championship sponsors Tipperary Co-Op. Next up was the presentations to our county Under 15 panel who won the Humphrey Kelleher Shield Football title. They were introduced by one of the mentors Tommy Landers. Our thanks also to his colleagues P.J. Bowden, Stephen Landy and James Boland.
Prior to the interval, chairman Tom Dawson made a presentation to Ann McGrath former Secretary and PRO in recognition of her service to Coiste na nÓg over many years.
Senior Board chairman Michael Bourke in his address acknowledged Coiste na nÓg for the huge effort they put in during the year. He spoke about the brilliant year we have experienced pointing to the two All Ireland Cups accompanying the display. He thanked all the parents for their support and encouragement given to our young players. Then on to the hurling recipients and as the captains were introduced chairman Tom Dawson presented the medals.
Our last recipients were the Under 16 B Hurling panel who won the All Ireland John Doyle Memorial Cup and they were introduced by mentor Donal Hayes and our thanks also to his colleagues Joe Carmody and Trevor Hassett.
Our thanks to all the host clubs for their much appreciated support. To Arrabawn Co-Op who are back with us sponsoring our Under 16 A & B All Ireland Hurling tournaments, many thanks.
A special mention to Ann McGrath and Catherine Gleeson for the huge preparation that ensured everything went off well. To our loyal photographer Michael Boland thanks for the numerous photographs. Annual General Meeting: Its this time of the calendar when all the pitch action has come to a close that the focus turns to the administrative side of things. The Annual General Meeting of Coiste na nÓg will be held in the Horse & Jockey Hotel on Tuesday December 6th @ 8pm.
