North Tipperary U21 B Football Championship GROUP 1.
Both Newport Gaels and Borrisokane had good wins last weekend over Portroe and Burgess respectively and as a result they top GROUP 1 with full points.
The latest results were as follows:
Newport Gaels 5 – 06 Portroe 0 – 06
Borrisokane 2 – 06 Burgess 1 – 02
As a result the GROUP looks like this
Newport Pl 2 = 4 pts (+ 27)
Borrisokane Pl 2 = 4 pts (+14)
Portroe Pl 2 = 0 pts (-14)
Burgess Pl 2 = 0pts (-27)
From what you see both Newport Gaels and Borrisokane are through to the semi final stages.
GROUP 2
The only game to date is the Lorrha v Shannon Rovers tie which ended in a 7-13 to 0-3 for Lorrha. Game two goes ahead this weekend Shannon Rovers Gaels face Ballina at Ballingarry on Friday evening under lights at 7.30pm. Its Ballina’s first game and a win for the Blues would secure a place in the semi finals. Rovers Gaels on the other hand need a win to stay in the competition.
The North Board would again like to thank each of the clubs for their cooperation with fixtures last weekend. The fixtures continue and we again ask for cooperation from all in holding these fixtures as we need to complete the Under 21 football to be ready for county semi final date.
