Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipp U-21 A Hurling

Last weekends quarter finals:
Burgess 6-21 Lorrha 3-11 at Borrisokane on Saturday 9th November at 1.00pm

Nenagh Eire Og 2-12 Roscrea 1-4 at Moneygall on Sunday 10th of November.

With wins for Nenagh Eire Og over Roscrea and Burgess over Lorrha the way is set for the semi finals of the Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under -21 A Hurling championship will take place next Sunday 17th November. Holders, Kilruane MacDonaghs unbeaten so far will play Nenagh Eire Og also unbeaten in Gardiner Park, Borrisokane. Throw in 2.00pm. At the same time, Kildangan face Burgess in the other semi final with Dolla the venue and 2.00pm the throw in time.

Both Semi Finals promise two mouth-watering contests. Kilruane MacDonagh take on Nenagh Eire Og tie in a repeat of last year’s penultimate round which Kilruane won by 1-15 to1-8. So far, Kilruane has defeated Roscrea and Borris-Ileigh and they are no strangers to the semi final stage as they feature in their eight semi final in the last nine seasons. Their opponents defeated Kildangan and Roscrea- enter their fourth in a row having tasted success in 2011 against Burgess.

Burgess – who overcome Borris-Ileigh and Lorrha are also frequent visitors to the penultimate stages. They lost to Toomevara last year and on Sunday they will enter their fourth semi final in five years and tenth since 2000 winning six. Kildangan, beaten by Nenagh Eire Og in round one but were quarter final winners against Toomevara appear in their second in three years having lost to Nenagh in 2011.

North Under -21 A Hurling Semi Final Appearances 2000 – 2013
Thirteen teams reached the North U-21 A Hurling Semi finals in 2000 and 2013. inclusive. Burgess top the list with 10 appearances. Next come Kilruane MacDonaghs on 8 with Nenagh Eire Og on 6 and Toomevara 5.
Five clubs Ballina, Templederry, Shannon Rovers Gaels, Borris-Ileigh and Roscrea have 4 each; Lorrha on 3; Kildangan are on 2 and Silvermines and Ballinahinch have 1 each.

Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipp U-21 B Hurling
Ballinahinch Gaels 7-21 to1-4 win over Ballina last weekend puts them in a quarter final clash with Silvermines next Sunday. Meanwhile, twenty four hours earlier Borrisokane must meet Shannon Rovers Gaels in another quarter clash. Puckane is the venue.
Moneygall/Clonakenny already through to the semi final and they will meet the winners of the Ballina v Portroe quarter final clash which is provisionally fixed for November 23rd.

County Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship Final 2013
Congrats to Templederry for their win over Killenaule in the County Junior B Hurling semi- final at Templemore last Sunday. They will meet Holycross-Ballycahill with The Ragg as the venue.

North Convention
The North Tipperary Senior Convention will be held in Ballinahinch on December 2nd. Closing date for nominations and motions is this Friday 15th November.
