U12 Football
North Tipp was well represented last weekend in the County Football finals as we contested three of the four finals. In B Grade, Ballina just did enough to overcome South Champions, Grangemockler, beating the opposition 1-8 to 1-6. In C Grade, Lorrha had a big win over Clonmel Commercials with a score of 4-7 to 2-0. Finally in Grade D, Ballina succumbed to a much stronger Clonmel Commercials side losing out 7-5 to 1-3. Well done to Lorrha and Ballina for representing our division with pride and congrats on bringing the first championship silverware back to North Tipp.
U14 Football
Last week saw our A + B finals take place with Inane Rovers edging out Nenagh Eire ᅮg on a scoreline of 0-4 to 0-1 whilst Kilruane had a big win over Ballina scoring 6-6 to 0-5. Inane and Kilruane will now progress to the County semis which are scheduled for June 7th.
U16 Football
Our U16 divisional football is also complete with A champions Newport and B winners Toomevara’s next action on June 21st in the county semis. North Tipp CNG would like to wish all our semi finalists the best of luck in the coming weeks.
Peadar Cummins
Our U14 divisional hurling squad are in action in the prestigious Peadar Cummins tournament in Borrisoleigh next Saturday. The North will play Mid Tipp at 11am and will then contest either the shield final at 12:30 or hopefully the cup final at 1:30. This would be a nice year to win as the tournament celebrates it’s 30th anniversary. Best of luck to all concerned.
North Bord meeting
There will be a full North CNG meeting in Eire g complex on Thurs evening at 8pm. Each club must be represented at this meeting as the hurling championship is about to commence.
Hurling Championship
All the gradings and groups have now been reconciled and the fixture list will be published this week. The U12 championship will commence on May 30th with the North Finals scheduled for 26/27 July.
The U14A will commence on 18th June and the U14B on 28th May with both finals fixed for 23/24 August. The U16 A + B will commence on 30th June with the finals on Sept 13/14 at the latest. It is intended to bring the U16 finals forward if possible to avoid clashing with minor competitions.
